Int/ext care tips for a 2012 911 Turbo S.
Hey all,
I bought one of the last few new 997.2 Turbo S cars remaining as of early February. I'm hoping to get some suggestions for how I can keep it pristine.
It's tough for me to wash the car in the usual way, as not only do I live in a town home complex without a hose spigot, but I have a back problem that makes it tough to do the bending maneuvers required to do a careful job. What do you think about self-wash places with a handheld power washer? My hope is that given enough distance, they are relatively gentle and help remove surface dirt before any direct physical contact--but I'm really not sure.
As for the interior, I have Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner, which I've used on my Z4 M Coupe. How often should I clean and condition the leather, and do you recommend any other products?
Thanks!

Based on back problems and other issues this is what I'd recommend:
Pay a good detailer to bring your TTS to 95-99% perfect. Use Blackfire Wet Diamond (http://www.detailedimage.com/Blackfi...P205/16-oz-S1/) to seal paint (and probably every 4 months) and you could have it topped off with what ever carnauba wax you want or just leave it alone . At this point you're starting with a freshly cleaned, sealed car that should be easy to maintain.
Interior:
1. Leatherique Prestine Clean (http://www.detailedimage.com/Leather...-P64/32-oz-S2/) Clean as a daily, weekly, monthly product...will work on leather and vinyl (http://www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-P...roduct-review/)
Exterior:
1. Chemical Hybrid V7 (http://www.detailedimage.com/Chemica...P530/16-oz-S1/) as a spray detailer to remove light dust, finger prints, and other things such as insects and bird droppings.
2. If you want to wash your car and not add insult to injury with your back I'd invest in a CR Spotless deionizing water system: http://www.detailedimage.com/CRSpotl...00-Gallons-S1/ and a wet vac to blow off excess water. You can use what ever quality soap you like. Here's one: http://www.detailedimage.com/Dodo-Ju...579/250-ml-S1/
3. You'll need good towels and cleaner: http://www.detailedimage.com/DI-Micr...09/1000-ml-S1/ & http://www.chemicalguys.com/Microfib...ories_s/18.htm
I have a bad back too and find that even though a wash, DI rinse, and blow dry takes longer, it's better on my back (in theory you can rinse with DI water from CR Spotless and walk away...my water is still too hard after the rinse to do this). Another product to consider would be a waterless wash system like Opimum No Rinse Wash & Shine http://www.detailedimage.com/Optimum...-P444/32oz-S1/ and here's an article about how to use it: http://www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-P...-no-rinse-onr/
Do please consider having a professional correct the paint on your new car to make your life cleaning it more easy from day one.

congrats on the car.
I would agree it wouldn't be a bad idea to bring the car once or twice a year for a full out paint correction detail.
for the interior since the car is new.
I would consider picking up 1z einszett ****pit and Sonax Leather Foam, pretty much all you will need as the car is still new.
What else are you looking for the exterior?

Awesome guys, thanks for the tips! Some good ideas for the interior which should be the easier bit.
What do you recommend in between deep cleans/details? The back of my car gets dirty quite quickly (not only dust, but also a black spot phenomenon another 911 friend observes on his car too--looks like tire stuff). I'd like to clean that up at least weekly in a way that won't scratch the paint as a direct contact would. Any thoughts on the pressure washer (eg 3-4 feet away), which has the added benefit of a built-in deionizer setting?

Give this a try http://www.detailedimage.com/Optimum...-P444/32oz-S1/ attached to a trigger spray head and pretreat the rear of the car, let stand for at least 3 minutes in the shade then rinse.
