Acid rain help...
Seems like the wife's car has some acid rain spots on the hood/roof and the trunk and it quite possibly might even be slightly etched into the clear too
The only time I didn't wash her car for couple of weeks and this crap happened other wise it gets washed atleast 2/week.
I can not feel the spots and light buffing with Manzerna power lock did help some but they are still there.
Showed to a good detailer today and he wasn't sure how to approach it
O well the charm of living in KY
So gurus, any help b greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Picture would help greatly.
try a small amount if vinegar diluted in a small amount of water.. put on spots and let it sit there a min. and then rub lightly... if this works then make a larger batch and go over larger areas at a time. This is much easier on the paint then compounds or abrasives. I have done this and sometimes had success and other times not so much luck. It will not hurt anything either way. If they are mostly hard water spots it should work.

Removing ‘Water spots’
Always start by using the least abrasive product first
1. Use a paint surface cleaner (Z-PC Fusion Dual Action Paint Cleaner or Duragloss 501)
2. Try to dissolve the alkaline-based, surface/etched mineral water deposits with one or more of the following;
a) Use a 2:1 or stronger solution of distilled water/distilled white vinegar (Acetic acid)
b) Try a 2:1 solution of distilled water/Isopropyl Alcohol (adjust ratio as required)
c) Or equal parts distilled water/distilled white vinegar/Isopropyl alcohol.
3. Clean the effected surface with Klasse All-In-One or Zaino Z-PC Fusion Dual Action Paint Cleaner
4. Use detailing clay to remove any `hard' surface granules
5. Use a machine polish (Optimum Polish, Optimum Compound) and a cutting (LC White, Orange or Yellow) foam pad (speed # 4- 5.0) to level the paint surface
6. Use the least aggressive polish/foam pad first, if this doesn’t remove the problem step-up to a more aggressive polish / foam pad set-up
7. Wet-sand with 2000, 2500 or 3000 grit finishing paper
