GREENLANTERN'S Stunning C63 Black Series in to get the good stuff! Satin Guard

Project:

Satin Guard full vehicle
SATIN GUARD is a paint protection film from Prestige Film Technologies that gives it a nice satin sheen. What's very unique about this product compared to others we have used and tested is that it has what the manufacturer calls Dual Tone Technology, which gives a satin metallic look in direct sunlight and in lower lighting conditions a mattish effect. Do not get confused between Satin Guard and matte vinyl. This product is the same thickness as paint protection film and is translucent in color (clear) vs. matte vinyl, which is a thin colored piece of laminate.

To learn more about Satin Guard, just Google "Satin Guard" or visit the manufacturer's website for more information: prestige-films.com

SPECTRA PHOTOSYNC
Welcome to the latest technology in window tint. It was not long ago that ceramic tint was the #1 product on the market just 6-7 years ago. We have been testing this product since 2008 and finally gave the thumbs up to carrying this product. So what makes it different from all the tints on the market? Simple, significant heat reduction without needing to go dark. Spectra PhotoSync blocks out 98.5% of infrared rays, which accounts for 53% of the solar spectrum. Most window tint on the market only blocks 20%-30% of infrared (heat) and even ceramic films block 70%-85% depending on manufacturer and shade.

And even more significantly is the technology does not use any metals that can affect wireless transmission signals. Even some ceramic tints would affect signals such as keyless entry systems in Audis and BMWs (just google "ceramic tint affecting keyless entry").

Whether you choose to go with Spectra PhotoSync 65% or 45%, they both would reject 98.5% of infrared rays. To learn more about this film, just google "Spectra PhotoSync" and you will find various tests we have run and also project photos.

On this C63 Black Series, we will be installing Spectra PhotoSync65 on the front two windows and 55% on the rear 3 glasses. Since the Black Series' only come with a Pano roof, it can get quite hot, so it was a wise decision of the owner to go with 45% on the glass roof.

For those who are unaware what Satin Guard is.....first of all, it is not vinyl. It is of the same material from traditional paint protection film (aka clear bra), so it protects like it. It is a translucent product that comes with a 2 tone effect. In direct sunlight, there are satin metallic flakes that are visible and in ambient lighting, it looks matte.

Have to protect the rear diffusers as they are painted and will get chipped over time

Not to mention the front lip spoiler. All of the black painted portions of the car, we protected them with ClearGuardX, which gives a nice contrast to Satin Guard on the rest of the car.

Drives exceptionally well and is such a wild beast compared to the CLK Black Series. Handling also feels sharper and the car is lighter. Compound that with 582hp and 590lbs of torque, this car goes screaming.

This car is actually for sale for $175,000 with only 2000 miles. Only 5 of them in the USA!

First of all - Happy New Year to all members!!! If you would like to view more Satin Guard protected cars, just google: "Satin Guard" and you will find scores of projects of ours with this product.

Satin Guard is not vinyl, which tends to be the misconception here. Vinyl is typically 1.5-2.5 mils thick whereas Satin Guard is 3 times thicker. It is a translucent paint protection film that the manufacturer has a surface coating that will product a 2 tone metallic effect. In lower lighting conditions, it will look mattish. In direct sunlight, the film will exhibit metallic Satin flakes. Quite unique.
