if VS is your uncle, he's a solid solid person, and a great collector. we've done a few together, and i've helped him find a few others as well. he has impeccable taste.
i'd tell you to tell him hello for me, but i'm sure i'll be emailing with him some time this week!

shoot me an email offline and say hi, steve@trademanage.com

thx for the compliment. there were 22 flatnose 964 turbo S's. they made another 17 turbo S's without the flatnose (which was, from what i understand, an engine and flatnose package). the non-flatnoses are called "package cars". so 39 turbo S's, of which 22 were flatnoses. i had 3 at one point and yeah, they are insanely beautiful. the white i had, there were only 2 ever made. pearl white. there were 2 or 3 whites.

crazy thing, there is an incredibly comprehensive site devoted solely to the 22 flatnoses. wild. check it out at www.flachbau.com

Wow - I am impressed and a bit confused. Are you a dealer or just an enthusiast who buys/sells cars as a hobby? I am eager to see pics of your F430.

Love the bubble cars. Got a link where I can buy the bubble.

First, i'm just an enthusiast, but i know a lot of dealers who are dealers and wicked enthusiasts. me? i dont do it at all for profit, just the fun and love of the cars....
www.carcapsules.com
pretty cool stuff.

fyi for those interested in those carcapsules i mentioned...buy it direct. i send a mountain bike to virgian this week...$110. took 2 days by ground to get there, 35lbs. no idea if i checked a wrong box but didnt look it. gas prices are ugly. order from carcapsules.com you're probably net really close and you get a nice new bubble.

I posted this on Ferrarichat. some dudeso n both sites were really helpful, so i'm posting this here and there.

Well, I finally got my 430. I had posted up here a bit ago , looking for a 430; i have a few RS's and have owned many very nice Porsche and some others. I havent had a ferrari in about 10 years and back then, they were a tough cookie to swallow. Nice but not reliable or durable. Dealers were not local to me. it was ugly.

Well, i looked hard for the right 430. obviously new msrp cars were not available and after balancing a lot of thoughts, options, prices, colors...i decided to get a Silverstone black 3k mile 2006 430 coupe from Fof Central New Jersey. They are pretty local to me and thus i get on their list, and if all goes well, will get my hands on new msrp cars, etc. Basicallyi could have gotten similar elsewhere but i bought into the game...for now.

let me tell you...what a car. first, i love silvers and greys and light tones. I have never loved personally porsche reds or blacks etc. Artic and polar silver in the porsche world are my favorite. this silverstone is silly nice. the shimmer and depth of the paint is beyond anything i've seen in any of my porsches, other than maybe the green on the viper RS.
i like carbon. i think its high tech looking but not gaudy. and its universally accepted.
this car was previously owned by Roger Penske's son. the dealership is a penske dealer in NJ, and this was his son's car.
it was in perfect condition, and a subtle rattle in the tubi tips was handled by them replacing them with brand new.
carbon zones throughout. the rear engine bay is carbon.

having loved and continuing to love porsche, one thing i forgot was how little eye candy there was in the engine area. too tight, too small. no eye candy back there. well, taht 430 engine bay is like going to a show. you open the lid , all glass, and those headers and all taht stuff is just perfectly presented. wow. i had never ever never seen anything like that. it was pretty sick. the exhaust and all taht stuff (sorry, i'm a dork technically...for now) was incredible. the aluminun was intense. and the carbon engine, bay while expensive, really looks great. the wheel is carbon and the dark interior.
just really nice.

i love dark interiors. and Roger Jr. spec'd that thing perfectly.

the one are i was ambivalent was the lack of shields. now they ahd a silverstone f1 there with shields, red cars with shields, and some without. on all but a lighter silver, and this silverstone, i think the the shields look very nice. on this car, and the liter silver, i think it is frankly better lined, smoother curves without taht shield. would i have gotten them had i had the chance to spec the car? probably. i would not have had the vision to skip a nice option like that. and i would have sworn you couldnt buy it without it. but i dig it big time without and having seen it both ways, i like it without the . eh, i cant ahve it all. tried, came close. riht car, right dealer, right color, definately right price, right interior, carbon bays, NO ceramics...

the RS's drive lights out, and price a good 80k less in msrp, but this thing has presence...panache! the sound from that exhaust was nuts.

i totally punked out. was to go get it, and i had only a temporary plate. it was kind fo wet on the roads, so i asked a local guy with a nice flat bed to trailer it back. was cheap, small small money. dealership was 40 miles. much more comfy.

then i took out the white RS to get some snowboard pants for my daughter, basically an excuse to snag some miles . im not 100% ready for that ferrari just yet. i want to read the manual, figure out the basics (yes, they did a nice job showing me stuf and i probably will remember about 30%o f it. i couldnt really hear well with my jaw dropped down near my toes.

that car is nuts. man, am i stoked!!!

i loaded some photos. excuse the mess. i'll clean it up tomorrow. i just ran out of time at my office.
check them out at www.911flatnose.com

oh, when i asked "this was roger jr's car...his dad is Roger Penske...why would he haev skipped the shields?"...the answer was "they all only buy manuals, and skip the shields. They love the look without the shields".
to that point i was still unsure if i should have bot something wtihout this option.
then i looked up to see 4 of Roger's car there......an enzo, and two "enzo - looking things". and 2 599s.
was sick. none that i could see had the shields.

FYI FofCNJ i guess is losing those cars shortly. the guy nelson who was super knwoledgeable i guess said they were being shipped back to the penskes. they were just here on 'borrow' for a show, or clinic, etc.regards,
steve

By the way, the ugly mutt in the photo isn't me, but a good skiing buddy. he came over to check them out. he's a m3 nut, drives FULL tilt, all the time, every time, every place. if its not at 6000rpm or higher, he's not moving.

he was stoked too as you could see, so mcuh so that he wanted , repeat: wanted, himself ina photo.

I wont waste too much time talking about the virtues of the RS but i personally thinks its THE best porsche ever built. I think the run-up and continued push higher in msrp markups sort of confirms this. They are pretty limited in production numbers, and they drive/sound/look phenomenal.

I've had a number of nice pcars over the years. Back in the late 90s i had a ferrari or two. Im not sure if it was my lack of any patience, but i always seemed to have reliability issues. But it seems everyone is very stoked on the current 06/07 F430s. seems like performance and reliability are quite favorable. style is awsome. sound awsome.

So my thought is to find someone with an F430 who is craving a gt3RS. rather than sell the 430 and get wholesale or less than retail, and then payup for an RS....lets trade/swap.(obviously adjusting for msrp/markups) but you get idea.

if you have an interest, shoot me an email (steve@trademanage.com) or PM me and i'll get you my phone#.

Thanks in advance.

that stuff i has is swisstrax. swisstrax.com whirlpool ,thei gladiator line, is also the same product just a few lesser options, finishes. not cheap. that section you saw there was about 700beans. i think it wa slike 2/sqft.
very simple to install. the pieces near the lift i had to dremel so the lift would lower all the way down.
but really nice., looks good. keeps lubricants and oil off the floor. easy to clean.
