Congrats on the new addition. I must admit, prob. my favorite car of all time becuse of it's lack of ANY driver aids and it's overall presence.
Have fun with it. I'm surely one of the many that's jealous.

F40 = Sex, straight up raw focused driving car. I don't care what anybody says about their newer cars or even the Enzo, no comparison. I still have a picture of when I was kid with a doctor friend of the family when he took delivery of his, can't even remember, like 89' or 90'?

Thanks and frankly this car is turning me into a regular "motor mouth" (har!). As this is my first "old car", there is something about the driving experience that transcends mere motoring - perhaps it's a combination of the unique sound, the rather smelly interior, and the provenance of a car that seems, for me anyway, to capture the raw essence of what Enzo was trying to express. My CGT is of course spectacular in a rather clinical and detached way - the F40 is passion personified, a culmination of 40 years of arguably the most admired brand in motoring. After owning 550's, a Stradale, a couple of 430's, plus a 997 GT3 and a 997 GT3RS...it's this machine that evokes what a special car can do to its driver. It is an out-of-body experience...I sincerely hope the buzz I get after every drive will last a lifetime and that every car enthusiast gets a chance to experience it.

Alex -
Yeah, there is something about light-switch boost in a 2,600 pound street-legal car with no driver aids. It helps focus the mind...and loosen the bladder.
I'll be getting my 997TT into your queue for some more of that Sharkwerks magic real soon!

And the GT3 I think...but what is the point? I would trade so much for a F40! It is one of the best 5 car ever made....and a F40 with 2k miels is not really cheap!

Ahh great choice.
The F40 is the definitive supercar, light, stunning looks and of course, ample power.
I have always wondered why people say the brakes are bad though, because they look more then capable of pulling up such a light car!

Truth be told, compared to the ceramics on the CGT and the RS and even the big reds on a GT3 or 997TT, these brakes are pretty weak. On the other hand, I've only driven it a couple of hundred miles so far and it's possible (though perhaps not likely) that I just need to get used to the pressure required to make unboosted brakes really bite. Further, the OEM pads appear to be quite sport-oriented (they squeal louder than anything I've ever experienced) and I suspect they need to be heated up in anger for a little while and then maybe they'll come alive. There are plenty of F40's out there with bigger brakes, bigger turbo's, straight-pipe Tubi's, ECU mods, etc. I'm determined to keep this one box stock as it sits right now, as Enzo wanted.
