holy cheap Ferrari's Batman!
Highly Doubtful...the price of the replacement will be in upwards of 250K + and right now people arent even dropping the coin on the current 430s at bargain prices. Keep in mind, you're talking about ferrari here. They certainly are not going to flood the market with 430 replacements only to have a bunch of cars sitting on the showroom floors unsold in this **** economy. If they are smart and we know they are, they will have a limited production (more so than the 430) and yes, there will be a list and yes people will wait.
The current 430 owners who cant afford to upgrade will simply keep their car and the ones that are sitting around now b/c the owners had to sell will eventually be snatched up and the 430 market will recover. It will obviously never be the way it used to be, but I dont think it's going to tank b/c of the replacement. Far from it IMO.

You always see it whenever a new model comes out regardless of car. I noticed it when the 430 came out and that's how I picked up my 996TT for a song. Most people have the obsession with latest and greatest so I'm expecting it to happen again.
When the 430 came out, did 360 values tank? No. When the 430 came out, the market was "strong" and the price wasnt that much more than the MSRP of the 360. Yet the 360 didnt drop like a rock...if anything it held it's value quite well for a long time.
Now you have a crap economy, where people are getting rid of their cars b/c they simply cant afford them and have other priorities. That's why the values are in the crapper....NOT b/c the 430 replacement is on the way. It's all about production numbers and the replacement's numbers will be a lot less than that of the 430 b/c of the current situation. There are a lot of 430 owners who will not upgrade to the replacement b/c of price alone. The number of available 430s is slowly shrinking b/c people are taking advantage of the bargain prices and with the current production numbers of 09 (ridiculously low), the 430 is not going to be flooding the markets anywhere near the 996tt or any other mass produced car.

^^ i agree they are dropping because people can't afford them
Here's a nice one to grab. These bad boys were upper 400's for a while (why I never figured out with a 290k msrp car) but they were and now 5 months later

they are two totally different cars so it comes down to what you're going to do with the car and looks. really this is one cheap 599 though most will be in the 240's soon enough really the used newer 430's will be 60k cheaper.
The F430 is due to be replaced ~September any smart buyer would know that. Couple that with the tanked economy and you see depressed prices across the range. Just take a look at Maserati GTs or 599s. 599s where going for 20% over back in August today they are 30% under MSRP (for a used one obviously).
Has your Ferrari been on eBay? What unit are you/were you with?
