New Ferrari 458
#94
Has anyone thought about the 7spd DCT tranny yet in terms of maintenance? Wouldn't this equate to a car that requires no crazy maintenance items since the clutches are submerged in oil? Making the 458 as expensive to maintain as say a SL63 amg? or 997tt? I mean if ferrari intended to replace those clutches like they do now, that's 14 clutch to replace...

14 clutches to replace? I believe that there would only be 2 clutches. One for upshifts and one for down.

I mean the Scuderia really stepped up as far as performance for the entry level Ferrari, but this car seems to be on a different level as far as performance! The highest redline of any production engine, the most hp per liter of any performance engine and with a V-8 which we all know was the engine hand picked by god!
Now I am wondering if they will actually bring a 7 speed manual out for this car or will it be dual clutch gearbox only?
