MikeR397's Ferrari 360
Hi!
I took delivery of a beautiful rossa corsa 2001 Ferrari 360 last week. All I can say is wow, it is fantastic! I also own a Porsche 996tt (tune+europipe catless stage 2 exhaust, dv's) and a G35 coupe, both of which I also love dearly for thier own purposes and I will never part with, but the Ferrari is just in another league. I know that sounds cliche, but it really is. The Porsche is definately faster in a straight line, pushes you back in the seat more and has much more torque, but the look, feel, sound, attention, ect is just turned up a few notches from anything else I've ever driven in the Ferrari. It just looks impossibly curvy, wide and low, even next to the Porsche, but my favorite part of it is by far the engine and exhaust note. It has a Tubi exhaust and Fabspeed catless test pipes and absolutely screams like an F1 car. I love the sound of the Europipe in the Porsche, but it cannot compare to noises the Ferrari makes. Even sixth gear on the highway cruising sends tingles down my spine, and the scream from 4.5k to 8.5k RPM is just sublime! The best part is the sound is so audible and incredible inside the cabin, windows up or down, regardless of speed or rpm. It truely is a wonder how these things sound. Below are some pics and here's a list of mods the car had done (on someone else's dime before I bought it ;) ). I was originally planning to buy a F430, then changed my mind and came very close to getting a Challenge Stradale, but when that fell through and I got a very reasonable private sale offer from a Fchat owner concerning this 360 with the mods included, there was no way I could pass. In my honest opinion, the 360 is the best exotic bang for the buck out there right now, and is terrific value with little to no depreciation curve. Existing mods/options: - Rossa Corsa exterior with full black leather interior and red deviated stitching throughout the cabin - Challenge Stradale carbon fiber race seats - Tubi exhaust and Fabspeed catless test pipes (wow does it sound good!) - Full carbon fiber interior upgrade including: center counsel with cup holder, instrument cluster, stereo/climate control, mirror switch panel, door sills, door trim - Carbon fiber air boxes in engine bay - Hamann carbon fiber rear diffuser (for sale btw, PM me if interested) - Racambi Challenge front and rear grills - Alumnium driver dead pedal; mounted fire extinguisher; custom floor mats - 3M bra and embroidered car cover - K40 integrated front/rear radar/laser detector and laser diffuser - Upgraded F1 pump with Racambi cooling fin collar - Custom alpine stereo system with sub, speakers ect - 19'' Vossen gloss black wheels and 90% tread tires (also for sale) - 360 oem starfish wheels and tires (also for sale) I think that about does the mod list. I'm selling the gloss black Vossen wheels and already have F430 oem wheels that I will be putting on once the lug bolts arrive. I am going to do the Stradale TCU upgrade as well as add the yellow F430 tach background mod, but that is about it. Perhaps headers down the road or if I find a good deal on some. I'm selling the Hamann carbon fiber rear diffuser, it is very cool, but I've always preferred that giant gap instead. I'm also selling the carbon fiber cup holder (need the cigarette lighter outlet there instead), and the stock oem 360 wheels/tires. I also have all of the stock interior silver metal parts, and stock airbox covers, so PM me if anyone is interested in any of these parts. Here's some pics. I will post updated pics with the F430 oems when they are on, probalby the week after next as I just ordered the needed lug bolts online from Racambi. I'm not even going to say what my local Ferrari dealer wanted for a set of 20 F430 lugbots! http://img560.imageshack.us/img560/1131/img0126zj.jpg http://img854.imageshack.us/img854/3169/img0157ki.jpg http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/2562/img0232kb.jpg http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/9001/img0269sj.jpg http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/1240/img0346l.jpg http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/8586/img0368t.jpg http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/1254/img0375sr.jpg http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/5426/img0378tn.jpg |
Congrats. Seems like you took the time to really look around and decide what works best for you and I am glad your happy with your decision. You cant beat a 360 for the money. A true exotic at a price that is very reasonable. I cant wait to see the pics with the stock 430 wheels. I am sure it will really make the car that much nicer and still oem looking. Best of luck with it and enjoy it in good health.

Looks great MikeR and thanks for the feedback. The carbon fiber interior pieces and the Air Intake covers look awesome. I bet it sounds mean too. Enjoy it and let me know if you ever need anything else for it.
Thanks, |

Thanks, Only things I need to take care of are: 1. CS TCU upgrade (or look into 2002-2004 360 TCU and how close it can be modified to CS specs) depending on prices here, as the CS TCU retail is an insane $5k now, lol! 2. F430 wheels are going on later today. 3. Am going to do the yellow tach mod at some point, not high priority. 4. I think one of the maf's is a bit gummed up, rough cold start, P1125 and P1123 code, and rough 1st gear, until the car is warmed up, then she just purs. 5. Getting the major service done in a week, and may have to do clutch soon as well. At 75% wear now and is missing upshifts too often. The car has the upgraded F1 pump and Racambi cooling fin as of 10k miles ago, so I hope the clutch just needs an adjustment and I can get some more miles out of it before needing a new clutch. If I do need a new clutch, I'm leaning toward the Vivid Racing Stage 3 for $1125 (then $1750 in labor) rather than paying Ferrari a trillion dollars to do a clutch job. |

Sounds fantastic with the Tubi and Fabspeed test pipes! Love startups and it just screams. Absolutely zero drone and it sounds amazing at any RPM in any gear. I'm very pleased with the car.

How are you not getting a CEL with the Test Pipes? Do you have O2 extenders, or did he get a remap?
