2008 Scuderia vs a 2009

New to the Ferrari world and need some advice. Have gotten several prices on Scuderias. Any reason for prefering the '09 to the '08 besides resale value? Any upgrades on the '09? Thanks

The US carbon package (rear diffuser, headlight housing, door sills, front splitter) is standard on the 2009 Scuderia.
It was optional on the majority of the 2008's that came to U.S but became standard on some very late 2008 Scuds.

The carbon package makes the Scuderia 30 lbs lighter. Better look and better performance.

If the 08 has the carbon package they are identical. Great machine !

bosco42, thanks for the reply. I have got some really good prices on 2009 scuderias. I have driven the F430 and liked the car but it seemed a little too tame for me at the time. I good friend said even though there is only @ 20hp increase in the scud, it has many other improvements over the 'base' F430, worth the 30k differential in price. I have driven his F430 back to back with my Viper and the Viper is way faster. I know they are different animals but i like to track my cars. He said the scud closes the performance gap.

Completely different cars....like night and day.

The Scud is a raw mean racing machine. The engine is tuned differently, the suspension is different, the exhaust is different and the F1 Super Fast 2 transmission is ridiculously fast (60 milliseconds) and it delivers a powerful punch when you pop it. It is much faster, handles much better and the exhaust note is breathtaking.

The total driving experience is much different than the F430. I also had a 997.2 Turbo with PDK and the Scud is way better in every sensory experience.

You have to define what you want out of the car. If you're looking for a nice touring car then the F430 or Turbo will serve you well.

If you want a car that puts a sh*t *** grin on your face every time you get into it and gets your adrenaline pumping like nothing else will then the Scud is your car.

The Scud is a completely different driving experience than the F430. I drove both back to back on the track. The Scud is so much louder inside (not outside necessarily), lighter, and more aggressive feeling. The F430 is definately very sport, but the Scud is much more so.
