Build Quality

Hi

I know Ferrari (and most other exotic/hand built) cars have made many leaps in build quality over the years.

I have heard it's basically at a point now that build quality is really no longer a concern with these cars.

What are your thoughts ?

Has Ferrari (and Lambo, Aston, Lotus, Bentley, Maserati) reached a comparable point to their Japanese and German counterparts ?

If so, when do you think this happened - last 5 years, 10 years ... ?

thank you

Have owned multiple SpA cars for ~30 years, now. Build quality is as good as other manufacturers today. Certainly not like it was back when there were long lunches with plenty of vino involved. I'd say that quality control really became a push in the late-90's. 488/458/430/360 is light years over the 348/328/308 quality.

Also, SpA now has a 7 (or is it 8?) year service-included policy. I think they've also designed the cars to be more maintenance friendly than the older models. They also went to a timing chain over belt in the 430, which means no more 5-year cam belt service. On the 355 and 348, that meant an engine drop.
