Is $100K Over List a Fair Deal for a 599?

Hello everyone,

I can buy a 599 right now from a dealer at $100K over list. List is $337K. Car is rossa corsa/tan with lot's of options such as c.f. and ceramic brakes.

Dealer let me drive car on Friday and it is an amazing car. Simply stunning.

I have to keep car for 12 months per FNA.

Two Questions:

1. Fair deal? Seems cars are going for approx. $180K over list now.

2. Anyone here take a stab at reading the tea leaves in terms of what the car will be worth in 12 months?

Thanks!!

599

I think looking 12 months out if you pay $100k over and get a nice color combo you will be ok as there won't be many more 599 cars around a yr from now and like you said many people are paying bigger premiums than that. As far as looking 3 years out I think anybody paying anywhere near 500k for a 599 today will never get even close to their money back. I think a Carrera GT would be a much better investemtn right now if anybody plans on keeping the car for more than 1-2 yrs. Good luck

While I think the 599 will remain somewhat more buoyant than other F GT cars, the inevitable arrival of the 599 spider will definitely hurt the coupe. At a buck over, you're prolly safe.

Aren't ceramics a 'mandatory' option?

You should be good to go - there are F430s from 2006 still selling for $50-80K over. For the 599, you should be golden. Drive it for a year, break even or close to it when you sell.

Yes they are Jamie or an "option" you are required to choose! There are so many customers drinking the Ferrari Kool Aid -- like me -- that they can get away with it.

Fair no thought involved they were trading at 600k....down the road I sense very little downside.

There is a big difference between the asking price and selling price on the 599 premiums. Actual transactions are taking place around $100,000 premium.

Verified two actual transactions which occurred in the last 60 days. One was $202K over list for an 07. The other was $165K over list for a well used 06.
