Florida Dealer & Doc Fees?
These fees on a $35k used M3 seem a little suspect to me. What are you guys seeing in Florida?
Doc Fee: $787 ("doc fee is the Dealer Fee. Standard in the state of FL")
Taxable Fees: $428 ("we outsource the title work to a 3rd party co. and includes the doc stamp")
Non Taxable Fees: $425 ("registration for Florida and out of state deals" ---which mine is as I'm shipping to CA)
I don't mind paying for what's required and maybe a couple hundred for the dealer to do the document work but $1,640 in total fees seems extreme (especially since the title transfer fee in CA is $15 and the registration fee is $45).

Typically a majority of dealer prep fees are negotiable. I would ask the dealer what the legally required fee amounts are and what items the dealer is charging for. Any non-legally required prep fees would be subject to negotiation as it impacts dealer margin and overhead.
