How would you feel if your neighbors built a Purple garage next to your property? Few people here appreciate garages more than me, but honestly, this garage actually hurts my eyes.

If you live out in the country, you can paint your house/garage/barn whatever color you please. That's your right as well as your neighbors right. If you can live within the rules of an HOA, then you can be assured that something like this will never happen. I'm sure there's going to be a lot of people saying that they could never live in an HOA - too many rules (which is most likely true for a lot of them). However, consider the alternative (see pic above).
