Will a 4 post lift work 9'6" height?
 

I have 114 inches of height is this enough to a have 4 post lift?

I think you need a minimum of 11 feet to do a 4-post. Check out bend paks website.

Quick answer, yes/probably.

Longer answer, depends what you're storing. I stack an '07 Z06 and '69 Camaro easily with a 10'5" ceiling and plenty of room (> 12") to spare.

Add your lower car height and add the distance to the next lock height on whatever lift you're considering, then add your upper car height + 5" for the ramp thickness + 2" to get the ramps off the locks. That is your bare minimum.

I store my Z on the bottom (49") on the lock that places the bottom of the ramps at 53". Top of the ramps is just short of 58" off the floor. My '69 is 52" high, so I'm at 110" + about 2" to get it off the lock. Minimum height for my setup would be about 113"

Lock spacing on my lift (BendPak HD-9) is every 4", so if your bottom car was say 52", you'd have to go up to the next lock height (putting the bottom ramp at 57").

Your garage door is another matter.. lots of ways to resolve that if you need to open your door with cars on the lift.

To do what. I have 9' 3" and have a Quality 4 post lift. I can work under my cars with a stool which is not ideal condition but it beats being on your back. I have wheels so I can roll it outside if I want to bring the car higher. I can not park an additional car on top of my Porsche, well maybe a low Ferrari would work but my Acura does not

Just wondering how you resolve the issue.
Did you install new rails for the door?

My garage height is 10' 5" and I didn't move my garage door rails.

You can see in my picture that my way to resolve the garage door issue was to park the Camaro (top) backwards as the hood is lower than the trunk.

For shorter garage ceiling heights, a garage door company can install a high-lift kit for the rails so they are much closer to the ceiling. This is typically done in conjunction with a side-lift or high-mount garage door opener.

IMO, this isn't a DIY job, but if you're mindful of the torsion spring, I guess you could try it.

I know they have a garage door motor on a wall mount if ceiling space is a problem. Also the bendpak website as you mentioned carries a bunch of different sizes. There's a lot of useful information about people's lifts and garage installs on garagejournal if you search through it.
