New Epoxy Floor Installed

Emptied the garage last night and got the fridge on a dolly and covered it with a tarp to spend a few days outside. Going to let the pictures do the talking on this On this one...
Quick summary. Needed to remove my old epoxy I did in 2008. It had been damaged due to a flood and ensuing construction. Floor was ground, defects filled, repairs ground, vacuum slab, apply 100% medium gray epoxy, add chips and non slip additive last. Tomorrow they will return to top it with Polly to uv stabilize it and add some gloss.
Company showed up today at 8am to begin.

I paid $ 1,500.00 which is inexpensive. Most other quotes were higher. It was so below market I was afraid but after checking references it checked out.

These guys have the right equipment and they started at 8AM and were done at 12NOON so per hour they did pretty well. Most local Epoxy contractors wants almost double to double plus a few hundred.

your garage floor epoxy looks good.

I just did my garage which is only about 500sqft good thing was the floor was uncoated so no removal of coating was needed just scraped and muratic acid was the day prior. I did however go through two little boxes of the "blue/gray/white" color chips. I didn't do epoxy but rather a stain (H&C® Concrete Sealer Solid Color Solvent-based) but its so thick the flakes will work just fine with it. much cheaper than epoxy and you don't need to grind the surface when its time to recoat. I guess time will tell but other that I know with the same product have had great results without the peeling, chipping. Since its a stain it actual soaks into the concrete but it seems more like a paint since it does coat the surface as well.

Bobby,

A company called Epoxy Professionals. I can give you his number 586-491-3126 Daniel. He is an owner operator and most likely you will get voice mail, he will call back. Tell him Jeff sent you.

I am happy with the floor, especially for the price I paid. The floor is holding up well and after I pulled the car in hot and pulled out I was releaved after hearing nightmare stories about hot tire lift. SO far so good and it has been over a month, still looks great.

My tires are summer hi performance and they leave a clear mark on the floor. I was told by many expoy installers that the softer tires can leave marks. I can wipe them off 90%. They do not bother me, and if I did not show you, you'd never see them unless you were looking. I cannot even catch them in a picture they are so faint and the floor so shiney.

I have spilled car cleaning chemicals on it and it wipes right up. Looks great.

If I were to do it again, I would use the same company, just add more non-slip. When wet, In sneakers it is no issue, in dress shoes it can be a very little slippery and I would add a little more clear grip beads.

Good Luck, I looked all over and the price cannot be beat for this quality of work.
