I got a PM about the refill of the resin. If you buy the resin in the bulk container, it's not too big, it's $195. The bulk resin will recharge the unit 3 times, so that's $65 a refill. You will typically get anywhere from 10-30 rinses out of the system. If you wash weekly, that's about 2.5-8 months of resin.

I have been looking at these. I live in Tampa Fl and we have hard water. I'd like to find out how many complete washes I would get from the system. I wash my car 1 to 2 times a week.

How many washes you get depends on how hard your water is and how much you use. Let's say your water is hard and is around 400 ppm; you should get about 200 gallons of di water. Now if you use the system all the way through and use about 10 gallons, on the high side, you will get 20 washes. If you use normal water and rinse with the di, about 5 gallons, you can double the number of washes to 40. Then it becomes more cost effective. So even if you wash your car twice a week, that's 20 weeks, 5 months of life out of one charge/recharge.

 

sorry for the stupid question but does it really work? like you can just spray it and walk away? i tried the stupid mr. clean car stuff and walked away and came back to water spots if it really does work then for sure count me in!
