Global Motorsports Group Enters 2008 World Challenge Season with Three Car Effort
SANTA ANA, Calif. (Mar. 12, 2008) - James Sofronas, President of Global Motorsports Group, has announced that he will once again be piloting the familiar blue, No. 14 GMG Porsche 997 GT3 in the 2008 SPEED GT Championship with the addition of two teammates to help Porsche capture the Manufacturers' crown.

Dino Crescentini (Stoptech Brakes/Centric Parts) and Sean Allen (BMC Group) have joined GMG Racing this year, adding a significant advantage to the team"s efforts. Crescentini and Allen have a vast amount of racing experience and both feel that the three-car assault will help lift GMG to the top step on the podium.
"I can't wait for the season to get started," Sofronas said. "With 2 new teammates and new car for 2008, we expect to be running up front early on. Pre-season testing has shown that all three drivers are extremely competitive. With data coming from three drivers, the engineers will be able to compare valuable information, aiding the time with set up, which we weren't able to do last year. We continue our longstanding relationship with Moton shocks and Eibach springs for 2008 which will allow us to quickly adapt to the new Toyo R888 tire.
"World Challenge is the ideal venue for us to compete in. In fact, over the past 12 months we have developed our own 'World Challenge’ collection of suspension and exhaust products for our street tuning line, which is new for 2008.
Having competed in the series for many years it was only logical for us to develop products and complete packages for Porsche automobiles. Our success in SPEED GT directly translates into the products we produce for street cars. It gives us a test bed for performance tuning packages that focus on improved handling, braking, aerodynamics and safety while maintaining the comfort and everyday reliability of these highly tuned automobiles.
"We had some mechanical issues in 2007 that were out of our control, preventing us from gaining crucial Championship points," Sofronas added. "This 2008 season, however, will be a new chapter. With three brand new 2008 GT3s using our proprietary GMG suspension components and new Moton shocks, we should prove as competitive as ever against some of the best drivers in sports car racing!"
GMG Racing will be put to the test in the SPEED GT season opener at Sebring International Raceway, March 14, at 4:40 p.m. (EDT). The race will air on SPEED Friday, March 21, at 1:00 p.m. (EDT).
GMG, the premier Porsche tuning facility in Southern California, develops, tests and manufactures racing and high performance components for both the street and track, many of which can be found on all three of their SPEED GT Porsche 997 GT3 Cup entries. GMG Vice-President/Co-Owner and Technical Director Fabryce Kutyba recently announced the introduction of GMG's WC (World Challenge) collection, a line of performance products for Porsche automobiles, which will focus on the 996TT, GT2 and 997 GT3 and RS, 997TT and 997GT2.
GMG’s operations are based in Santa Ana, Calif., in a 15,000 square-foot facility located directly across the street from Porsche Motorsports North America. Additional sponsors and support come from Moton, Eibach, BBS wheels, and Sparco. For more information, visit www.gmgracing.com.

zona is infamous around these partszona is infamous around these parts
Ok, I just don't get it!

Why can't this race be shown live or tape delay the samre day!

The speed World Challenge and the ALMS have the best, most competitive racing of any series.....hands down. That includes F1, Nascar or Cart/IRL!

Yet again supporters of his series must wait days to see the race........and it will be shown on a Friday afternoon no less!

WTF is up with that!
