Looks good on your car Mike, did you lowered your car to "Euro" spec?

rmag May 28, 2008 07:25 PM

You get them anodized or powder coated. My anodized set turned purple after a year ... not that I care ... there track wheels ;)

my car was lowered by the previous owner but i never found out if it was euro spec or not. with 19's i could not squeeze my finger in b/w the rear tire and car

ride quality is very good. some people say the toyo's are very noisy on the road but it hasnt been that bad. although i didnt lose a lot of weight b/c the toyo's are so heavy. 18's just seem to make the car even more nimble than what it was before. i'll get a real feel next week as i have 2 DE's within the same week at road atlanta

They will sound really loud after the track day. Mine sounded like bad wheel bearings, it was so loud. The grip is astounding that they produce with this car, you will be very happy.

They do take a few sessions to break in though so keep that in mind. I spun in my second session in a place that I never thought a car could spin, so be careful the first few sessions.

If your track is high speed, you may also get a bit of a wiggle under braking from the rear. You can see the wiggle at the 2:27 mark in my last track video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=2cMuDDjfU34 The wiggle will go away as the tread wears down a bit.

You will love the R888 over the RA-1. The tire comes to you through the session as opposed to the RA-1 which is only good first 3-4 laps. The black looks great.

Wheels look great and black is the way to go.

Looks hardcore with these Black CCWs'.

Looks nice Jenks! You know that wasn't your kid with the chalk. You're trying to recapture your youth playing hopscotch...:)

If weather holds out I will be with camera in tow for the DE event. I am not in it AGAIN. I need to get it together.

Like Rmag stated, they will slowly turn purple if you use them on the track. My fronts are now getting closer to silver. "kinda groovy"
