GT3 Track Video: VIR Ain't my Bitch
This video was shot at VIR full course during a Chin Motorsports track event. In the couple laps filmed, I pass 9 cars. During the entire session, I passed 28 cars. Chin Motorsports allows full course passing- even in corners and braking zones. Even though its not racing, it sure puts more fun into the tracking experience.
This video is by no means an attempt to show off driving skills nor lap times. On this particular day, I was driving rather moderately due to my wife being my passenger that day. She actually likes driving fast, and tracks her own Cayman S regularly, but I don't like driving risky with someone else's life in my car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsZc9tWNG_I The music in the background won't appeal to everyone...I know that already. That particular song..."Ain't my *****" by Metallica is the song I listen to during the very first warm up lap of the day, under full course yellow conditions. It seems to get me in the proper frame of mind for a day at the track. Dan |
Dan, Nice driving.
Looks like you have a ssk. Also I love it that you track that car, it must be an amazing car to have. |

I'm not the greatest or fastest driver, but I certainly do have a great time out there. And you are correct, driving the GT3 on the track is like letting loose a wild animal out into its own natural habitat. Those who own GT3 but have never had it out on the track have only experienced perhaps 50% of what this car has to offer. . |
Dan,
I don't have a GT3 (yet...) but my 997S is so much fun on the track, but id love to have that extra 1,100 rpm in the high end!!! I have to say I would rather have your car than an RS, and I love the color. Let me know if you ever decide to part with that car! |
Awesome, Dan! Although I'm just a beginner (DE's at NJMP), I hope to make it to VIR one of these days. BTW, I think your wife should get her helmet painted by Tyler too, that plain, boring white has to go! ;)

VIR rocks and Chin gives you plenty of track time.

-E. As a matter of fact, Tyler is just finishing up her helmet and should be sending it back to us this week. You're going to make me hi-jack my own thread! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...s/P8230407.jpg |

Thanks for sharing.
I need to find a gal who enjoys cars, driving and rock and roll too. ENJOY! |
Your were turning high teens and still passed that many cars!!! Where there any fast ones out in that group?? A stock GT3 at VIR is capable of a sub 2:08, you should have lapped the field
|
^He was in the green run group and his wife was his instructor - just kidding!!!:)
That was nice video, very smooth driving. I also have a wife who races and I like Metallica as well. |
