Is dealer putting 50miles on car for service normal?
Trust me... having owed three Audi's, they care even less - at least my dealership did anyway.
Yeap, the only reason I never bought a RS4 was because I was so disgusted with all the dealers I dealt with. Love their cars but if you think Porsche is bad, you haven't seen nothing yet...
I would do what VSE Chuck suggested above, get an overrev report and see how hard the car was driven. Sad but these things happen..

absolutely, and I would be looking for a different dealership
This video has me worried about the car I have on order. When my car come in from the port on the truck, how much driving should I expect the dealer to do as part of the PDI process before giving me the car? What is involved in the PDI process?
What prevents the factory or the people at the port from raging out the car before it gets on the truck and goes to the dealer?
I don't realty want the jack legs at teh dealer doing any more that need be.

Way back when I had an NSX I took it in for a simple interior problem. When I got it back after, they kept it over the weekend, it had an addition 200 miles on it. Obviously some tech had a really cool weekend ride.
I raised HUGE hell with everyone at the dealership. Service manager, my salesman's manager and the general manager. They finally agreed to give me my next major service for free.

You may want to review your service order. I remember thinking my car had been driven 50 miles. What happened was I brought my car in they took the mileage and used the same SO when I returned (they didn't have a part and it was the second time I brought it in). The mileage was the time I drove the car between services.

My car had 5 miles on it when I picked it up from the dealer. Normal delivery should have 15 miles or less, no more. As a side, I was speaking to a salesman in Reno, they have a new unsold GT3 at the dealership. Apparantly the motor failed which is odd for an unsold car. Porsche replaced the motor with a new motor but would not disclose what caused the failure. The salesman said they plan to trade the car for a turbo Panamera, so the car may show up at a new dealership somewhere. Who knows if the motor issue will be disclosed and the bigger issue is what caused the failure in the first place. If anyone plans to buy a new GT3 from any dealer and the delivery dealer is listed in Reno, not the dealership where you are buying the car from, buyer beware.
If you are worried about PDI mileage just ask the dealer to see the car when it arrives, before it is unwrapped to note the mileage before and after PDI. If you are really worried ask to ride along during the PDI. I think that is overkill though, your tech works on these cars all day long and drives them regularly so I doubt they have much interest in hammering your new car. And even if they do hammer it a bit, it will probably just get your rings seated and save you oil consumption issues down the road. These cars were meant to be driven and can be driven out of the box. Who knows what happened with the original poster's car but I think it was an aberration rather than a common occurrence.

ask to take a car for a test drive and beat the **** outta it and put 100 miles on it
if a salesman comes with you drive as far away to another town as you can, get out and throw the keys in a lake, and have a buddy waiting near by to give you a ride home. Let them deal with getting the car back, keys, and milage. Maybe they will have some idea how you felt
