Following up on a earlier thread we were building this car for a client to go club racing in...

Front are 18x9 = 18lbs

No 18" for the 2010 GT3 CL's w/ PCCBs?

We are planning to do a 18" wheel for the 2010 GT3 - however with more and more offerings from tire manufactures suppyling 19" race rubber ( Pirelli, Michelin, Hoosier, etc) the need for a 18" is only realized if you are running slicks.. Most of the guys out there are going to run R compound tires and there are enough 19" offerings out there.

Additionally Porsche has done a tremendous amount of work with the new GT3 and RS in terms of chassis set up and dynamics that an 18" tire may not be the "way to go" the cars are plenty fast with 19"s... We just tested the new Pirelli Trofeo in 19"s on a customers road going 2010 WC-GT3 and the car was fast on 19" in fact at WSIR it was a full 1.5 seconds faster than the tire the car came equipped with MSPCUP. The new Trofeo is on the leading edge of R compound tire technology and it shows...

Now if you have a first gen GT3 or RS the 18" is the way to go for track use the suspension dynamics are more suited for this tire on this car.

Our sources at Porsche Motorsport tell us that the 19" is the way to go on this platform... And for what its worth, I see no reason to disagree with them based on the testing we have done on our own.


So with that being said.............. If you must have an 18" set up we will gladly build you a set :)

The 997.1 GT3 also came stock with 19" wheels and 18" are better for the track. Obviously with proper tire and sizes, the same is the case for the 997.2 GT3.
That about a source saying 18" may not be the way to go is ridiculous. Or you guys are just trying to keep people in the 19" to sell those the Pirelli Trofeo's?
If you statement were in fact true, then, how are the suspension dynamics on a 997.1 GT3 more suited for an 18" track wheel when that car was design and sold with 19"?

Oh damn!!!! I am thinking very hard now!!!

Understand that the suspension geomerty and the aerodynamics of the 2010 car are different than the 997.1 and this all plays into the way the the set up with the wheels work. With the resources available to us we are able to test and come up with finding we have found.



I am not just trying to sell you 19"s we have tested and collected our own data and it refelects the information we have recieved from Porsche.

You have the choice to do as you wish, Im just sharing the information we have collected.


If you want the 18's in centerlock we are happy to make those. :)
