18's on a 2007 gt3???

Hi,
I picked up an 07 gt3 and sold my 06 911s. These are two pretty different cars! hilarious
I have the chance to buy 4 gt3 used rims with new michs pilots on them.
But the sizes are 18x8 1/2 45 off set fronts and
18x 11 50 off set rears.
2500.00 for the set one has slight curb rash.
question, will the wheels fit?
and will it look stupid with 18's
I have the gt3 rs all black rims 19s now with 305s in the back and 235s front.
looking at rims for no particular reason except seems like a great deal.

Thanks

I love my 18's.......the car belongs on 18's, for track wheels

For the street, not sure I would mess with it

18" rubber is cheaper. 8.5" and 11" rims are good for 245/315 rubber, i run 9"/12" on 255/335 rubber and imho car feels more stable on wider rims.
it all really depends of what tires you prefer to run on as some simply do not exist in 19".

the front looks fine. it might actually look flushed. the rears you might have to remove the oem 5mm spacer else it might stick out by a few mm. not sure if difference of 8mm will rub the rear fender once you remove the spacers. try it before you buy it. ;)

Wheels

I have Volk TE37 19" wheels with the perfect offset for the 997 / 997 GT3. I've had great success running either the p zero corsa's or the Hoosier R6 on these rims (8.5 x 19 / 12 x 19). They are extremely lightweight and look really good on the car. Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks for all the replys,
I think Ill offer 2000 for them. As long as they fit.
Thanks!

If you have the PCCB larger rotors, make sure they fit before buying them. Not all 18" will fit. Fikse 18" were fine on my previous car and were a great set-up for track wheels.

Did you pick up the porsche from the dealership?

I am not sure you really want to go to thinner (11") wheels in the back, either for the street or the track.

if you are buying a new set of wheel for 997, any variant. get 12".
anything less just makes no sense.

For track

18x9 and 18x12 is the way to go!
