What's this car worth?

Also, are those sport seats standard? I thought the GT2 came with the same seats that comes in the Boxster speedster (or whatever that car is called) and the GT2 RS... More like reclineable Race Seats. The seats in this picture are standard sport seats :( Like this:

Hell Sunset even calls them GT2 seats: http://www.suncoastparts.com/product/GT2Seats.html

I do like the deviated stitching, yellow seat belts, and painted seat-backs... Black wheels are also a good choice. Whoever specd the car had good taste.

FYI, those sport buckets in the pic you posted don't recline. They fold in half but back is at a fixed angle.

The seats in the car are the optional Adaptive Sport Seats (about 40-45 lbs heavier than the buckets).

The seats you posted from Suncoast are the standard seats in that car as you mentioned.

The 2008 GT2's are a bargain these days. I would have been temped to get one instead of the GT3 if the insurance was not so high on these cars.

I think if you search hard, and negotiate hard, you probably could buy a good example in the 120k to 135k range.

Are you saying someone "downgraded" the seats?

^No. FWIW, sport adaptives are optional on the GT2. I would probably go for the fixed-back carbon fiber buckets if it was a weekend car, but much prefer the sport adaptives from a comfort standpoint, and they're also much easier to get in and out of than the fixed-back seats.

Mid 130's max.

No, not down graded, just a more comfortable option, which was spec'd when ordering the car. I would imagine they were a no-cost or low cost option. I.E. the .2 GT3 comes with the standard (manual for/aft, power recline) sport seats which look just like the ones in the car you're looking at but without the multiple power buttons/levers at the seat bottom. The Adaptives (A.S.S.) in your car are a $2295 upgrade in the .2 GT3 and the buckets are a $2995 upgrade. I'd be surprised -even with Porsche being the money maker they are- that the Adaptives would have been any more than the buckets in a GT2, hence a no-cost option. They are not really a downgrade by monetary values, but arguably less costly if judged by the .2 GT3 pricing.

The buckets are lighter than the Adaptives by about 65-70 lbs. Not really a lot in a car like the GT2, but it's still 65-70 lbs (the 40-45 I mentioned above is incorrect, that's the delta between the A.S.S.s and the GT3 standard sport seats.). More importantly the buckets will hold you in place (and allow for a haraness for track use) where the A.S.S.s will not.

The buckets (Suncoast example you posted) is the standard seat in the GT2. In a car like the GT2, I'd want the buckets or the lighter sport seats (standard in a .1/.2 GT3), probably the buckets.

I think the 2008 yellow/black GT2 on Ebay did not meet the reserve when it was previously put up for auction. I seem to recall the highest bid being $123k.

YoopsRacing Jan 4, 2011 08:00 AM

wow these have lost +30k from the last time I looked....dropping like a bomb

Turbo Fanatic Jan 15, 2011 01:49 AM

I saw this car in person and it is gorgeous. is has alcantara (or suede) seat centers, door inserts, steering wheel, painted seat backs, yellow set belts... wow. Just wow!

Not going to knock the GT2Rs since it's a absolutely bad ass. But at 1/2 the price price I would be more than happy with an 08/09 GT2 with a flash and comparable HP. Realistically 1/2 of the 150 lb weight savings from the GT2RS comes from the A/C delete. Not something I would be willing to live with.

I know what my next car is going to be!

The yellow 2008 GT2 was recently put up again on ebay and the max bid this time was about $121k. The reserve was not met.
