2rs vs 3rs at n'ring
i just got back from the nurburgring and had an amazing time. besides my own driving, one of the most fun things was watching all the gt2rs and gt3rs fly around. ive never seen a 2rs before but these cars are as common at the ring as a dodge in detroit.
i watched two guys, one with 2rs other with 3rs, lap the modern f1 track for a while and came to conclusion i would much rather have the naturally aspirated 3rs regardless of the price. with 2 serious, expert drivers they were close enough in lap times but the noise from the 3 just overwhelmed the turbo. the 3 sounded like a racing car esp on the downshifts while the turbo sounded like a loud vacuum cleaner. at little closer on style but the 3 looks purposeful while the 2 looks like its trying too hard to justify price. a little bit 'fast and furious' |
ah i was there just this past saturday. i only saw one red 2rs but gt3/rs were a plenty! i wished i had mine there to drive but the corsa i rented did just fine albeit slow but it was my 1st time at the ring. fun times. what car did you rent?

we need video or pics or something. haha

3 RS driver must have been better then the 2 RS driver because there lap times are no where near each other on the ring. Maybe since the track was shorter they were closer?

what is a corsa and did you see the ktm xbow that was there - unreal wasnt it? i had a scirocco cup car from rent-racecar on sat and sun. it was a great beginners car. my instructor christian was amazing also. i was so intimidated by the track i was ready to quit before i started but he put me to ease and even though i was one of the slowest there i had tons of fun.
i was staying at the dorint hotel with a balcony overlooking the f1 track and i watched a track day sat evening that had a red, silver, and 2 black gt2rs along with a burgundy 458 and too many gt3rs to count. the 2 fastest guys were the silver 2rs and a white 3rs which were about equal. i did take a video of it but i dont know how to upload it. i will try though. as far as the 2 drivers - they said they were about equal in ability and the 2 was faster but it was close enough |

yes i did see those cars but didnt know what they were. they were pretty quick. i did 15 laps over 2 days and saw an accident on almost every one - luckily no ambulances though.
i had in car instructor both days but he made me go solo on the last lap. was scarry but lots of fun. right before that though he held my camcorder for almost a full lap. came out pretty good too. i will try and get it to youtube and post a link here. the gt2rs stuff also. the best video i have of that is the red gt2rs and white gt2. the ones with the gt3rs when they were racing didnt come out so great. |
