Tires for GT2--Old Question

I have an 08 GT2 and I know that this question has been posted numerous times but I went to order Michelin Pilot Sports 305/30/19 for my rears with 12 inch wheels and Tire Rack told me that the widest wheel they would fit on would be 11 1/2 inch wheels. I was sure that others on the site said that they used this size on their GT3RSs and GT2s.
These tires will only be driven on the street. My car is currently a DD and am not anticipating track use.
Any thoughts?

U could it the 305/30/19 on a 12 inch rear rim... Actually i think it it's nicely.. As far as ps2's are concerned I wouldn't go with them because they don't give you long mileage.. Bridgestone re11's I think it is... Those give u more mileage.. My ps2's lasted about 5k if so

305/30/19 is the stock size rear tire on a 997.1 GT3 RS which uses the same 12" wide wheels as the GT2. You will be fine with anything from 305-325

Rears on the GT2 are 325's. Why get smaller?

I've liked my Pirelli Corsa Systems for street, though they are pricey.
