A pair of GT2's

This is about a third of the way through the detail process. I just got done using Migliore Forza (http://www.migliorewax.com/forza.html) as a prep APC and washed the car. It will be clayed, polished with Megair's 105/205 (http://www.detailedimage.com/Meguiar...P388/32-oz-S1/), Menzerna PO106FA (http://www.detailedimage.com/Menzern...P228/16-oz-S1/), and Chemical Guys Black Light (http://www.detailedimage.com/Chemica...P529/16-oz-S1/). It will be topped with Migliore Presidenziale (http://www.migliorewax.com/Presidenziale.html). The wheels will be polished and topped with Migliore Wheel Seal (http://www.migliorewax.com/wheelseal.html)...I love this stuff.

Hi Doc.

How do you like the GT2 so far?

What's your dead honest opinion about the 997 GT2 automobile.. since you've owned, driven 'one'!

I am not talking about whether its good for street or track use. Just as a Porsche muscle car, did it meet, exceed, OR in one way or another (even 1% !!) fail your expectations!!

Cheers!

The dark window tint on your red GT2 looks fantastic! Really makes the car pop even more. Very nice!

I posted my thoughts about the GT2 about 4-5 months ago after I first bought the GT2 and this is what I wrote and my opinion hasn't really changed:
"If I had never driven/owned a 997 TT I don't believe I'd comprehend how truly different the TT and GT2 are from one another. The GT2 is far better planted at any speed. The steering is lighter and more presice. The clutch has a firmer feel, but is easy to operate in traffic. Everything feels like it was put together better, tighter, and with a pure sports car in mind. The exhaust is very quite when not called upon and aggressive when asked. The GT2 is much lower and needs to be handled as such. I have very few complaints of my TT: body roll, soft clutch, and exhaust, but thats it. I had an EVOMs EVT580/600R tune with Cargraphics race exhaust and front and rear RSS sway bars. I would not have changed a thing on my TT, the GT2 is just so much more car."

The GT2 is extremely raw and can get out of hand quickly when you loose respect for the power and rear wheel drive. It goes anywhere you point the nose and does so effortlessly. In my TT I could get away with a head turn to the left or right without worrying the car would change direction (you know when you turn your head and your hand tend to follow that direction?). In the GT2 when you move your hands even slightly when holding the steering wheel the car will respond.
I think the GT2 is very comfortable even with the carbon bucket seats. Since taking ownership I have had it flashed with EVOMS EVT670 kit (headers, 200cel cats, intercoolers, flash, BRVs), stage 3 clutch and subsequently have removed the cats in leu of bypass pipes. It is making over 700 lb/ft torque at the crank.
I'm very happy overall with the GT2 even though I probable won't own it long as I never seem to keep cars too long. I really want a PDK transmission, but would love it in a turbo with the same weight as the GT2. I drove my friend's 2011 TTS and thought it was an amazing car, but I'll tell you it really felt heavy compared to the GT2 (as expected).
