SALE STOP on all GT3's
Has anyone confirmed the Pistonhead article about a failed bolt causing Porsche to stop cars from leaving dealerships until problem is rectified.

It is due to a "quality issue that potentially exists with the engine"
|
might this delay my May production GT3?
|
well... there may be a great sale of historic Corvettes to consider instead:

Re delays for May production? Mine has been brought forward to April 11th from late May. So whatever that means but I doubt that new car production would be delayed much. |

I was supposed to take a look at a car this weekend. I just got an email from my dealership in LA about the stop sale. My dealer is still waiting for the confirmation. She said she'll know hopefully by this weekend. I hope its not a delay... I was so close.

I was at park Place in Dallas and can confirm both the Service Manager and Sale Manger told me that they can no longer take orders for GT3's. No official answer has been given.

Most dealers in the US have more potential buyers on waiting lists for GT3s than the number of allocations that they'll get for GT3s in 2014 and 2015. . |
So what does this mean for those who have already collected their 991 GT3's?
|
Found the article in question:
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/t...scussion&mid=0 Scroll to the bottom of the blog. Sounds like the have isolated it to German VIN's but some may have been sent to other markets and sorted out at the ports. Guess we have to pay attention over the next few months. |
Alpine sorry my reply was not crisp. I understand that there are more orders than cars available right now. Porsche dealers are not taking orders or delivering cars due to this stop order from Porsche corporate.

So what are we talking about here? A minor production issue or a really big problem with the GT3 spec 9A1 motor?
|
Who know's but it seems in the past the latest tech was always derived from endurance racing. It's kind of strange that the Metzger was not switched to the 9A1 in the race cars? Why would they not race prove the latest tech first? Sounds like another price jump for the RS cars...
