Bought a 991 GT3 to keep my GT3RS company
I couldn't help myself. I have GT3 disease. Yes, I have a 2011 GT3RS which is an incredible amazing work of art and is more than enough for anyone. However, when I drove a new 991 GT3 it was clear my 2010 turbo had to go. I will never get rid of my GT3RS. With the RS climbing in price and the driving thrill it provides, my RS is here to stay. But I am astounded by the new GT3. I was speechless after the test drive! While I haven't had a chance to really compare it to my GT3RS, it is clear the 991 GT3 is very, very special indeed.
So this week I decided to go see what all the fuss was about with the new GT3. It took a minute behind the wheel for me to realize I had to have it. It had been ordered by someone else but he backed out and the car became available with all the options I would have chosen. I sold the turbo and had the GT3 put on a truck and delivered to my house. There was no way I was going to drive it 3 hours on the insane freeways in LA and risk anything happening to it. Here are a few photos of the car along with her sister GT3RS. I will post some more and when I have a chance to drive it properly I will give my thoughts on how it differs from my GT3RS. I thought I would miss my 2010 PDK turbo... I can't even remember what I named her... Guess I don't miss the turbo at all! This GT3 disease is fantastic! Congratulations to all who have purchased a 991 GT3. I am extremely happy to say I am among the group who has one of these special machines.

That GT3 is just stunning and I'm sure you will get a ton of fun out of it over the years!
More pics when you get a chance

Thank you very much. I actually had no intention of buying a GT3 until I drove one this last Monday. You only live once and a GT3 and GT3RS are extraordinary special cars so what the hell! I know there are many white ones but if I had ordered one, I still think I would have ordered white. To be honest, I don't think I could have had the patience to wait for a special build. It would have drove me crazy waiting! :-) More photos coming and a list of the options. Can't wait to give it a good run along the coast and up in the hills in San Diego

I love your garage. Hang on that RS forever. You would regret selling it big time. It is a lifetime keeper.

Thank you. Yes, I have been asked by peope I have met if I would sell my RS to them but I won't sell it. I have known people who sold an RS and they definitely regretted it. The way it looks, I can't see selling the GT3 in the future either.

Don't sell it. You would regret it immensely. Still, I can see you trading in your GT3 for a 991 GT3RS LOL.

I keep going out to the garage to check on them and look to see if they are real! LOL As soon as I break in the new one I will need a wing man! LOL

No, I am done. I will never ever buy another 911. I know I have said that 4 times but this time I mean it.. Maybe...

Oh no. Can I ask why you sold it? I am guessing you can't get it back? Sounds silly but just wondering. I do love the GT3 but the RS makes my spine shiver and I get goose bumps when I start it up.

I don't have the funds to buy another 911 of this level. Between the 2014 991 TTS and the 2015 AMG E63 S sedan with Renntech mods I am now car poor. LOL.
