How Many GT3's???

Are the GT3's limited production or are they being built to suit the demand???

Speculation has ranged anywhere from 450 to 750 cars for the US. I have heard worldwide production of ~1500. I imagine they will produce the current GT3 till they change the bodystyle in mid to late 2004.

thank you for the response. in mid to late 2004.... is that when the 997 is supposed to debut?

A date has not been set for the 997, mid to late 04 debut is a guess.

Expect 997 GT3's two years later than that...Who knows whether they will decide to make a car for the US market....

Rocketman, I'd say the US's chances are slim for a 997 GT3 if dealers really have to mark $5K off MSRP for the current GT3 (as some other posts imply) when the car is barely released. There is not enough volume in Porsches for dealers to survive on Chevy-like margins. I personally think those sorts of discounts are more wishful thinking on the part of buyers than reality, but maybe I was a knucklehead for paying full price; certainly a complete idiot for trying to flip mine on eBay!!! :-).

I am hoping that they do not release a 997 GT3 to the US. It will just make the 996GT3 hold its value that much more. They will have to make a street version for homologation once they make a 997RSR.

Of course I'd like mine to hold its value too, but there's one little problem - If they don't bring the 997 GT3 you and I can't have one!

Petert, I paid MSRP too, with absolutely no regrets!!!! Best $$$ I ever spent... :-)

You guys are getting ahead of yourselves, the 996 is the first body type that the GT2 and GT3 have made it to the states in production, lets be happy we got these so far.:D
