Who's ordering the 991 GT3.2??

Hey guys,

This will be my first GT3 and I am extremely excited to spec the car out shortly.
I have some questions for the guys who already have GT3's or have owned them in the past especially the 991 GT3.1 version.

To the people who currently own the 991 GT3.1; will you guys be ordering the .2 so you can row your own gears? Or will you be keeping the .1?

How many of you guys actually put a good amount of mileage on these a year? 10k plus.

To the people who are going to order, PDK or Manual? I personally want to row my own gears but I know how stiff the clutch was on the previous generation. I am going to put 10-12k on it a year....

I will hopefully get an allocation. PDK for me.

Has your dealer already given you a guarantee that you'll be allocated a car? If so, have you purchased multiple other P-cars before?

The reason I ask is to inquire how you managed to snag an early delivery date for this car, given that you've communicated that expecting to spec your car shortly, which would indicate that with a 6-8 month build time, you'd be taking delivery by fall of 2017 or early 2018.

Also, did you or are you expecting to pay over MSRP?

Pdk only until september (in the u.s.) so if you are on top of the list with an allocation coming your way you will not have the choice between pdk or manual

Would the new (2018 991.2 GT3) wear the same wheel/tire set up as the 2016 GT3RS ? Would they share the same body measurements ?

Yes I am guaranteed allocation and I am expecting to pay MSRP.

Speccing out my car doesn't guarantee an early build slot. It will just means that I have built out my car, generated a Porsche code and it will be inputed in the system and will build accordingly.

I was given an allocation for the GT3.1 too when it came out and I had passed on it. It just wasn't the right time for me and I didn't have room in the stable to add the car.

I have a great outstanding relationship with this dealership and send many referrals there way.

2017 alone my family has picked up 2 x Turbo S' and a friend just put in an order for a Cayenne S for Euro delivery.

Thanks for the info. I am leaning towards rowing my own gears at this point but that can certainly change.

Wonder what the dealer markup will be on these. :(

I noticed the dual mass flywheel has been mentioned several times with different video journalists. Does this mean laggy throttle tip in like my 997 Turbo? If it does, it seems like a sacrificial way to dull down the GT3 a bit for the R and GT3 RS. Which GT3's up to this point use a dual mass flywheel?

I think the entire video is worth watching but AP talks about the DMFW at ~ the 16:00 minute mark.

Wow that is insane!! 50k!! Thats GT3RS territory.

Interesting thoughts. Is the 991.1 GT3 RS still being sold at premium to MSRP?

1. How do you get an allocation? I currently own a 997.2 C2 does that help?
2. Will there be an markup on MRSP if I wait 1 year?

I'm very interested in buying one but have no idea where to start to be honest.

I don't think it will help much even if you are a current owner unless you have a very good relationship with your salesperson. (Read: dumped a ton of money at the same dealer)

As for premium, I was looking at some 2016 GT3 RS and they are still asking for $50-$80k over the list, so I am not sure...

I am almost convinced that I should just get a Lambo or McLaren for this kind of money. Just need to convince wife.
