European delivery for 991.2 GT3-no more?

I noticed that the current configurator has eliminated the european delivery option, just Atlanta and LA. What's the story?

No more euro delivery for any company. BMW, Merc etc. I believe it is emissions related.

I called the dealer and spoke to my usual salesperson. He told me that they are not doing European delivery in Zuffenhuasen for the next 6-8 months because they are tooling up for the e car.

I have been searching the internet on this no European delivery situation and can/t find anything. Can you give me a site, etc. where it talks of this. Thanks.

From what I understand, Euro Delivery is still available however customers can no longer drive their cars on European streets for 1-2 weeks and then return it for shipping. Customers can do factory tours, see their cars but cannot drive the car out of the factory. The reason is that German regulators frowned on US spec'ed cars being driven on European roads, as the cars weren't exactly compliant with European automotive regulations.

From what I was told Porsche gives Euro Delivery customers a Euro spec car to drive while in Europe. An acquaintance got to drive a 991.2 turbo S...not bad (he was picking up a 991.2 GT3).
