I would be disapointed if the GT2 was under 500hp. Seeing that the 996 GT2 was 62hp+ on the TT at it's launch I would think the 997 will have more than 20hp more than the 997TT.

Not to mention, the last 996 GT2's had 480 something hp already. There has to be some improvement hp wise. Porsche never dissapoints. :)

It looks like the website is extremely slow right now and the link I provided may actually play havoc with Internet Explorer. I just tried going to the home page and then clicking on the article, with much better luck. http://www.worldcarfans.com The article: - "Compared to the 911 Turbo, this 911 GT2 is recognizable by the missing fog-lights in the front bumper and the huge rear wing as well as a more modest looking front lip-spoiler. Built on the latest 997 platform, this Porsche 911 GT2 was not expected to exist by some industry sources. The upper rear wing on this test mule is similar to those found on previous GT2's and may be exchanged for a newer design. However, the lower wing-base with integrated engine air-intake vents looks production-ready. Expect the GT2's horsepower to be at least 520 when it's announced later this year with the possibility of as much as 550 or more on the table. Top speed should exceed 200 mph (320 km/h), a first for production-line 911s". -z |

But considering the Turbo has 480...the GT2 should go well over. I'm very happy with that new GT2 cause of the RWD...let see the result! But when will it be released? Will it use an updated version of the 3.6 or 3.8...I really don't know :o |
996 GT2 much better in the appearence department.
