CGT clutch costs

How much does it cost to replace a CGT clutch (labor and parts)? I've heard that it's in the $20k range.

Someone I know, who ultimately had their clutch changed under warranty, was initially quoted $32K including parts and labor by the dealer.

I've heard very similar quotes as well, but that seems a bit much. I think actual billing would be somewhere in the $12-15k range.

Amir, that person wouldn't happen to be a canadian gentleman would he?

Nothing on the CGT is cheap. Don't ask how I know, but the windshield alone is $4,500, not including labor. The entire front end needs to come off to replace the windshield...1-2 days in labor. You're looking at a total of close to $7,000. The quote for the clutch is not far off.

Fayence on the Rennlist board just changed his clutch and the total was closer to the 20K figure for parts and labor.

Yep, just over $20k. I opted for the new clutch vs a refurb, which would save you just a little bit, but not too much.

Another friend of mine bent one of his rear wheels running over a piece of wood on the freeway at 165mph (crazy) and the replacement wheel cost him $7200.

I just replaced the clutch in my Silver one after some friends cooked it. McKenna Porsche did the work and it was something like $17,500 for parts and $8,500 for labor. I'll scan and post the reciept on here when i get time so you ca see the break down.

Once upon a time I had some curb rash. I was quoted around $6,000 for a new wheel. Maybe that included my %10 Porsche Club discount?

Anyway, I had it micro-welded and refinished for $600.

Out of curiosity how much does a clutch job run for a 996TT go for?
Or if anyone knows, an Enzo or any other hyper car? The price seems rather exhorbanent. Though I really wouldn't know either way.

The up keep oly gets real expensive if you dont know how to drive. You can put new rubber on it for 2000 and full service for around 5000 that is not that bad for the performance. Its just clutch jobs wheel replacements and undertray issues that will kill you. 30-40k is what a clutch should last so that isn't unresonable for the fun factor of 30k behind the wheel.
