530HP for 997 GT2

...info from just concluded Porsche international dealers' conference.

also, the Cayenne GTS will be launched at Frankfurt Show this year.

Basically its a 405HP normally aspirated Cayenne with sports suspension and some aesthetic tweaks (maybe Turbo look?). 6-spd manual tranny will be an option.

If it does have Launch control it will be hard to beat from light to light as well as on the twistys.

If launch control is what I think it is then the car must have DSG tran? True paddle shifter?

Launch control can be adapted to various types of trans not necessarily a DSG box , but is only going to be an option for the auto. It just relies on computer controlled throttle/rev modulation (and sometimes clutch) based off of what then computer is seeing at the wheel sensors. The computer gets its info from the same type of sensors used in antilock and traction controlled applications. It’s all about the computer controls. With enough money and smart engineers you can do alot and we all know that Porsche isn’t short in either of those departments. Its still not F1 grade, but you don’t really need that for the streets anyways. I hate seeing 911’s at the drag strip anyways.
