I saw the new GT2 this morning uncamo'd in AZ (pics up)
 

I got two pics I will try to upload from my phone. Looks hot!

I got a front and side pic but no rear shot (sorry it was worth seeing and would have been interested to hear your comments) before the caravan of ten 997's, the GT2 and a couple Cayennes pulled away. I was enroute to a conference and was not able to give chase but maybe knowing its in AZ someone else may bet a glimpse.

Who took a bite of the front bumper?

The rear had the split exhaust outlets just like the Turbo but was enhanced with the side vents you can see on the lower rear of the rear valance. The spoiler was similar to the 996 GT2 but had inlets kind of like one of the after market wings I have seen.

Personally the rear end was a little busy but purposeful and distinct from both the GT3 and Turbo. The front end looked kick ass! Nice combination of the Turbo nose clip with the GT3 slats at the top. Pics don't show it well but that will look nice when the slats are black. Makes me wonder if they may black out the rear valance vents as well.

As you can see, GT3 wheels and PCCB's. Maybe my imagination but they looked bigger than the ones I have seen before.

I did not hear the exhaust note on the GT2 but heard some very aggressive noise coming from some of the 997's most S's with quad pipes. Also since I was focused on the GT2 I really didn't notice if any of the 997's had the updated looks.

Right in front of Firebird on Maricopa, they were headed west on Maricopa and this was around 8:15a this morning. You were the first one I thought of and I tried to call you but I have your old cell.

The lower lip was missing as well.

was the guy trying to open the sunroof in the 1st pic? :D

Yeah he opened it up and waved at us! :D

No he was moving the visor to the side window, probably trying to block the sun or maybe obscuring his identity.

No, as usual they weren't really keen on hanging out for some pics. The only reason I caught them is they got separated and they were waiting for a cople of the 911's that missed a light.

I really wanted to get a pic of the rear end and pissed that I didn't. I think that will definetly bring out some opinions. :eek:
