Have to disagree!!! :D But thats just me...That wing makes me say..."Pass the Salsa". Mk2 wing makes me say..."Clear for take off..switch on afterburners!!!" :cool:

Speaking of wings, why have so few not moved their Mk II wing to a more optimal position? I've matched the angle of the wing to that of the spoiler that is part of the engine cover, assuming that gives a better downforce/drag compromise. I believe this setting allows you to dial in a little better turn-in and less push in slow corners and maintain neutral balance and a planted feel at speed. In competition, I can't recall seeing a compound wing in which the angle of attack is greater for the lower element. I may be paying a small fuel penalty and it blocks more rearward vision, but reasonable trade-offs IMHO. Anyone have access to a wind tunnel so I could test my seat o' the pants science?

Which wing shims are you using??? Do you like the feel, even on the road with a more aggressive wing angle??? Thanks

Follow up Jim....Anyone selling the Mark2 wing shims in the US or do we need to order them from Gert???

I didn't use the shims. If you pop off the little covers on the inside of the uprights there are a couple of screws, I can't remember if they're torx or hex. Loosen them and move the wing to where you want it and tighten them down.

The shims don't really adjust the wing, they fill in the gap between the top of the upright and the bottom of the wing when you open up the angle between them. I've been thinking about getting a set for aesthetic purposes, but I don't really mind the way it looks now and I'm not sure if they would match the angle of my set up.

The wing's effect doesn't really come into play that much at street speeds. On the occasional 100+ street runs the car feels great, but to tell the truth, on the street I'm more tuned in to watching for traffic, kids and dogs, and cops than the finer points of handling dynamics.

Thanks!! Whether you prefer Mk1 or Mk2 style, lets face it, the GT3 is one of the most awsome cars available. last Monday i had the pleasure to be at Goodwood for a Porsche only trackday, and what a blast. More RS's than you could poke a stick at, Mk1's, MK2's, 993 GT2, RS ect. Fantastic collection of cars, and it was grate to see the public in amongst the garages, checking out the cars. Reminded me of when i was a kid getting all excited at the sight of a P-car.
As a follow up to the article, Goodwood was the first trackday since the mods, and what a transformation. As Mr. RS will attest, there was nothing in it between us as we tore down the main straight. Still, he has the luxury of developement to come, so that may be the last time i trouble an RS!!

Regarding the Journoman(wotaguy) apparel, put me down for a couple of polo shirts and some stickers. Any badges being made as i think they would look the mutt's nuts sewn on my race suit along side my cubscout home help and knot tying patches.
Having a bit of greif with the email at the mo. I've got some pesky virus but the doc say's if i take the pills and apply the lotion, should be right as rain soon. Oh, and i had to relent at Goodwood. Seems my brakes abilities weren't up to mine, albeit brief. I had to have a lie down and a brisk rub down by matron afterwards!!

Hey Bass....my most memorable excuse by the floating Scotsman was at Montreal, last year////the brakes were comparable to Fred Flintstone's feet.......I laughed my ass off on that one!
