interior comfort in g/m
interior comfort in g/m
any bigger frame guys driving these cars. im 6'1 about 270 and will be exotic shopping in next 12 months, as my name suggest a gently used 360/430 spider is my first choice but will consider a g or m if i can find a suitable example in the sub 170k range. and was wondering about leg room length and width wise. i know that mods can be done to the seats for length but how is the width? due to where i live and my ethnicity its almost impossible for me to visit a dealer and feel welcome. and must likely will be buying the car sight unseen from a indivual and having it shipped...
hope i did not offend anyone with the ethnicty comment but have had hard times getting taken seriouly in luxury car dealers. so i can only imagine it will be worst in an exotic dealership. i guess since i dont look like a sports player or entertainer and to young to be a doctor lawyer etc etc i dont look like i can afford the car. i went through the same thing when i bought my class a Rv and i guess it has left a bad taste in my mouth

I'm sure in the long run you will determine that it has more to do with your age than your ethnicity...there are many young members on here that are very successful that have been treated badly by luxury and exotic dealers because of their age/dress. Their ethnicity pretty much covers the spectrum...good luck
I have a G Spyder, my 2nd (previously coupe 05) and I do find the leg room lacking.
I am 5'9" 180lb and have to have the seat all the way back. Even then I find the footrest( I have E gear) Way too close and put my foot down next to the brake pedal. Luckily I have very slim feet.
My previous G did not have power seats and I could not get comfortable to the point that it made my right leg numb and sold it.
You will have to try one to see if it suits you. Good luck.

The '08 Gallardo isn't that bad. I'm 6'2" 280lbs and the Gallardo fits just fine. I just can't spike my hair. (<---Serious)
I will admit though, that the Ferrari F430 fits me better.
You can find a nice example of either for $170k or less, though the F430's are going to be a bit more of a search.
As for the issues with dealers, I would still give your local dealer(s) a shot. I have had bad experiences at a couple local dealerships, but have been treated like family by several others. If they have something in your price range and equipped with the options that you want, at least give them a shot to earn your business. For every bad sales guy out there, there are plenty of good ones with more than enough time and patience to help you find the exotic car of your dreams. And if they fail, then sleep soundly knowing that they cost them self a sale initially and perhaps even the repeat business of a customer for years to come.

I'm not a tall guy but I just got my G and did a 100 mile drive through the mountains last week. I was in the car for a good 4 hours and I was surprised at how comfortable it was. It's no luxury sedan but I was impressed.
As for ethnicity/age, call them first. Talk to them, let them know you're serious and make an actual appointment. Warn them that you're young and you wanted to make sure they would still take care of you. I'm not trying to defend the salespeople but you have to imagine how many ppl come into their store just to "look"

Good choice! Sometimes I wonder why people get aftermarket wheels for their Bulls when the stock wheels look so good.
360-430 have more room, wider car, wish my Gallardo had more leg room, head room is ok, better than a Ford GT which my head touches the headliner...i put in a lumbar bladder in my seat...helps with longer trips

I am 6'5" and about 185. We have had a Gallardo in our rental fleet for a little over three years and put about 20k miles on it. I find it pretty uncomfortable to drive most of the time. To be honest, the saving grace is the lack of visibility. If you are driving it at reasonable speed and looking around then the movement of your head is likely to keep it from hitting the roof. Mine is an 04 and I believe that the 06's got about half an inch more room from somewhere. Honestly, I would need 3-4 more inches to feel comfortable. If it were just my car, then I would take the seats to an upholstery shop and have most of the padding removed.
I find the legroom to be more sufficient than the headroom but still lacking. I wear a size 14 shoe so it would not be easy to drive a stick. I have to spread my knees around the steering wheel so the shift lever would also interfere with my knee. Ultimately though, it is going to depend on how your height is distributed between legs and torso.
Jeremy Clarkson always says that he can fit in any car that he wants to. He is my height and I can see how that makes sense. I have driven Elises, small race cars, and lots of other things that are smaller than the G but you have to be pretty motivated.
I had to sit in traffic for about 20 minutes in the car yesterday and it was very uncomfortable.
As for the difficulty with the dealer, that is an absolutely unreasonable situation particularly in this economic climate. You may be young and demographically different than their customers were a few years ago but if you are a serious buyer you deserve to find a salesman that will treat you properly. I see that you are in "the South." I am in Atlanta and will be more than happy to put you in touch with a dealer that I promise will take you very seriously. PM me for contact information.
Good luck with your choice.
