Recommended oil for Stage 2 UGR Gallardo

Guys good afternoon. I have a friend that's attending a HPDE tomorrow in his UGR Stage 2 Gallardo. I've been running Mobil 1 20W50 synthetic. The gentleman who sold him the car though told me that I should use Valvoline VR1 regular non synthetic instead because Mobil 1 is "like water when it's hot out."

I don't know if that makes much sense but my buddy can't seem to get in touch with the UGR guys right now. As good as they are, I'm sure they're just inundated with work as their volume is usually significant.

Any recommendations??

Yes Valvoline VR1 is what Kevin @UGR told me to use as well.

How did the car do on a road course? It has to be an absolute handful.
