Why does Lamborghini's depreciation rate go down so fast?

as titled...
in canada here, a Lamborghini gallardo (2004) with 5000 or so km goes for approximately 220k CAD.
A 06 gallardo with 2800km goes for 280k CAD...

but a 05 F430 goes for 270k (8000km)

so i guess taking an average from the first 2 lambos hilarious (i know it aint accurate but its better than nothing, assuming the depreciation rate is linear)

would be a 05 gallardo with (3500km) will go for 250k...
first off, the lambo has fewer miles, but its still cheaper than an F430...

edit: all cars are fully loaded with option such as the F1 tranny and E-gear

You ve touched a good subject. You're true but only for Murcie or Gallardo. I remember from Lambo posts. Ive seen some comments about Diablo prices are not lowering they keep their value at max.
Maybe this happens because of production numbers. I mean how many Diablo's produced in 10 years , and how many Gallardo produced last 3 year? That will be the answer.

But i want to give a solid example from my country.
There is a Ferrari official dealership and official workshop. But Lamborghini does not have.( it signed up it will be opened on May)

New F430 F1 prices are around 320k-330k Euro here. Sama as Gallardo. Their prices are in same range.

But when i look 2005 F430 prices it is around 260-275k Euro depend on mileage on it and originality.(if it has any paintjobs or crashes)

When i look 04 Gallardo prices it is around 215k-225k depending on their options.(Clear bonnet, E-gear)

So i think Lambo deprecation rate is not so higher than Ferrari even Lambo has not yet a dealership or workshop officialy.

For example when Ferrari get their dealership in Turkey , all 2nd hand Ferrari prices rise up about %10-15 depending on the car. I remember a 360 modena at year 2002 it has a price of 140.000 Euro (iy was at 30.000km), i saw same car at my friends gallery now it is about 150.000 Euro. The years passed but its value rise up. Because Ferrari had its dealership.

That maybe different in other countries but imo after Lambo dealership opened, both F and L have same deprecation rate here.

I believe because they are not as exclusive as they used to (greater production numbers) while quite a lot of people still think that they are not reliable and well made.

Check out the depreciation numbers for Maybach, Rolls etc. Not evey funny!

What about SLR then???

SLR is 750k euro here , if you want to get second hand (2-3 years old) sure it 350-400k

Isnt it reliable and well made??

Of course it is...

Yeah, right.. Just look at what Gumball does to them, they all keep breaking down. Unfortunately.

Murci prices will level off and eventually go up. The prices on the new cars are going up too quickly. A loaded coupe is 370K and a Roadster 425K. Paid 350K for a new 06 Roadster last April and have purchased a new Lambo the last 3 years. I decided this year I will not pay that price increase and I am sure other people feel the same way.Good clean examples will bring good money in the future.I believe Lambo is miscalculating the market thinking they can raise the prices to whatever they want to .Time will tell IMO.

I don't own one and I have no idea. To be honest I think it should be since it's the least complicated and closer to a mass production car.

What I meant about Lambos is that it's not like 10 years ago when seing a Lambo in the street was an event. I saw two Gallardos yesterday in Athens... And I have probably seen 2 Diablos in my whole life in about 20 European Capitals I have visited.

IMO they produce to many cars if they want to keep them exclusive. And there are not few that buy supercars, get bored of them and sell them a few months later. There are quite a few people like this on this board for whom losing 50-60k on a purchase isn't that important.

Yeah i understand what you mean. That's why Diablo still keeps it price at high ranks..

because a Ferrari will always be a Ferrari... the MR Ferraris always held their value for at least 5-10 years... as for the Lambo... i really have no idea why... but hey for us protential buyers is the best news...
