I got nothing against Hef - hey buddy, you promised me a ride in your orange G on Fchat! - but this fanboy crap has to stop. The thread starter got his car done at a place of his choosing. You have a TT G by Hef? Good for you. There are alternatives in life, you know. This guy got a better deal perhaps. Not every penny in a price is parts and labor, you know!

Point being, he got his car done a different way, let him enjoy it. If it screws up, then you can tell him you made the mistake, because saying it now serves no purpose.

5-6 PSI is for Volvo drivers and ****, IMO. Any G owner with the ***** to push 20+ PSI? Then we'd be talking some serious gains!

I think G-force is being a little protective of his baby......There are only 4 TT Gallardos on the road and it would be a pity if the prototech prototype blows an engine and turns people away from this fantastic mod.

Personally, I question the wisdom of bolting on tt kit to a na, high compression, all aluminin engine. Every engine that Heffner has torn down has had some scarring on the cylinder walls, I believe g-force has some pics. This engine was not designed for forced induction, so it is a very logical and prudent step to beef it up(and step down on compression a tad too!) before you add blowers.

In the next few months you will be seeing some great press/magazine tests on the Heffner TT Gallardos. Wayne has put 15k miles on his and the other three are racking up miles too(2k on mine in 2 months!) This an incredible machine that will run with the fastest tuner cars. It will outrun Enzos, CGTs and hang with the big Bugatti on a high speed roll.

By this time next year a TT Gallardo industry will be developing rapidly.....there will be other options besides a Heffner TT. To call G-force a fan boy is an insult....the dude knows what he is talking about and his message is simple.... choose your tuner carefully.

man, and i thought a stock gallardo was fun to drive!

Pro tech just called me to say a few things.
He did no internal engine work on the blown motor
and stated that Andrew the owner said it was "his fault" (andrews).

There are always 2 sides to every story. Just thought this should be
posted also.

Yeah, after looking at the kit a few things bother me. 1 is that instead of running the exhausts directly out of the turbos you have them crossed over and running through CEL's. The CEL's are going to limit some of the horespower potential the kit "could" make. 2nd, the intercoolers are too small unless they were Air to Liquids. The large silicone couplers are also causes for future problems. Under boost, it's possible that piping can be disconnected from the silicone causing boost leaks. They should run straight mandrel bent piping. As far as the turbos being so far away, I don't think that will be a problem. As long as the exhaust gas flow is consistent and balanced, they'll spool just fine. Regardless, we'll wait to see the outcome. IMO, it looks like an easy $20K profit for the tuner/builder.

those arent CEL's .they are mini res just for sound ...how much air flow % does the heff intercoolers give if by looking at them you can determin this ? thats the question if you want to compare and those clamps are for the picture which was taken off the car on that motor ...were not using those cheap clamps ...**** also im so glad you posted this pick everyone saying my turbos are so far back when in this picture they are same distance as mine ?....

If you read my post I said the distance isn't a problem. The difference is Heff is running a Liquid to air Intercooler which cools the air intake alot faster then an air to air intercooler like the ones for your kit. (Unless those are Air to Liquid) I've attached a picture to show you what i mean. From experience, silicone like the one on your kit will flex under high boost because it's not very strong. Even if the seal is tight between the clamps and the piping, there is always that chance. The way the intercooler piping on the Heff kit sits is directly to the throttle bodies and has no bends making it "more" secure. The "flex" tube on your kit runs the risk of holding up to the name it was given.

Congrats on the car and the TT build, I just dont think you chose the right tuner. More than one of us have heard from reliable sources, or have personally had problems with Prototech. Not only that, but looking at how the kit was designed, its not quite on the same par as Heff's. Placement is a big key to kit building, as well as what you use.

Hopefully all goes well with your car and you are trouble free, as none of us wish for your car to have anything wrong with it.

I know this thread is a little old, but I wanted to comment on a few things. First, the positioning of the turbo is just fine. There are no issues with lag in regards to the distance of this sort of placement(speaking from personal experience).

Second, Weazel, the silicon hose you are pointing at is the air intake on the right side, there will be zero issues with that. The other is a short/small piece of silicon, how do you suggest they connect the compressor housing to the intercooler? That is the way it is done.. on all turbo cars(unless they use wiggins clamps or something).

About the air to air intercoolers. I like the idea, but the size will be too small in the end. In any case, that is a relatively easy change possibly(depending on space).

The overall design is nice, it just seem like the Hef fanclub can't deal with another shop building something decent.

About the motor, building it sounds like the smart move(for obvious reasons).

I personally know nothing about the tuner in question, but thought I'd post about the mechanical side of things.
