if you looked at a car strictly from a financial standpoint we would all be driving 10+ year old honda civics.

saw it at sema a year ago. engine bay is amazing. Although im sure the power is useless cause it didnt look like the car had any kind of wide rear tire. The turbo is huge, id like to see the dyno graph

how is it that you're able to put an "=" sign between "hobby" & "invest"? although yes, i do agree with you that it's silly, IF that's all the cash you got.. and trust me, parts alone can easily rack the bill upward $100k if anyone wants to replicate it (realistically impossible due to all the discontinue parts, which makes it even more valuable parts-by-parts).

i'd probably won't repeat it again if i knew it was going to cost that much time & $ for completion; but at the same time, budget was never an issue when it comes to, like you said, th perfect hobby at the time.

Hey Mike! It sure has been awhile! Great to see you on the 6! Interesting that we are both playing around with the Pcars now.

Personally, I would never put that much money into an IS, but that's only because I hated mine. It's refreshing to see something other than a Supra/Fairlady/STI/etc being modded to this extent. If you truly love the car and are not going to sell it then I wouldn't really look at it as a lost investment because the value is exclusive to you alone. Nice job with it

Yea I've seen plenty of guys go way beyond budget over the years in their builds. It's all what makes you happy and practicality has no bearing on that!
