Looks fantastic - which M3 did you come from? I just went from the E46 to an Elise as well and it's been a huge change...losing 1500 lbs does that to you I suppose. Now you're making me second-guess the Chrome Orange...

Black looks fantastic on anything...except maybe an HHR. Congrats!

 

I came from an E36 so the weight was still dramatic but not as pronounced as an E46.

 

Congrats, what an awesome track car! Why not go for the Exige S?

Honestly wanted the looks of the Elise and a technical true convertible I suppose. Also it fit perfectly within my budget as I got a great price on the car with only 5k on the clock. Couple those together with it being the color combo I wanted, mods I wanted and a local buy it just fit the bill.

Ironically after driving a newer Exige S, I actually liked my Elise a little better despite being down in the power game. It's a little bit raw-er and more rev happy. I had considered upgrading this year, but after the back to back decided to stay put.
