We are pleased to offer 1993 Jaguar XJ220 S s/n 220779, one of only five XJ220 S models built and the only one we know to be titled, registered and road legal in California, documented right down to the California Bureau of Automobiles compliance sticker. This one owner XJ220 S is finished in what can best be described as “Outrageous Orange” with black trim and a gray leather interior with Willans racing seat belts. 1993 Jaguar XJ220 S s/n 220779 has only 2,413 km (1,496 miles). One of only three XJ220 Ss that still maintain their original livery and headlight assemblies.

When introduced in the early 1990s, the Jaguar XJ220 was the fastest production car on the planet at 220 mph. When Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR) and Jaguar Sport launched the XJ220–C to compete in the GT class (Group N) of FIA motor sport, the bar was again raised. At the same time, in January 1993 at the Autosports Show in England, TWR and Jaguar Sport also announced the XJ220 S, a limited–production, road–going version to comply with homologation requirements.

While the standard XJ220 was clothed in a lightweight aluminum body, TWR’s S version replaced every panel, except the doors, with carbon fiber resulting in a svelte 2,379 pound brute. In doing so they added a front splitter, wider rocker panels and an adjustable rear wing that gave the XJ220 S an imposing look, making the standard XJ220 look domesticated. The lightweight nose is easily removable for access and service. Boosted to 680 bhp, TWR also cranked the twin–turbo V6 to its limits. Combined with a weight reduction that retained only the air conditioning, XJ220 S could leap to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and reach 228 mph.

1993 Jaguar XJ220 S s/n 220779 is complete with all EPA, DOT and California compliance paperwork. Priced very right for what is “the–best–of–the–breed” at $295,000.

Nice find Phoenix ! That car is rare, absolutely the right one....

There is an article in Octane magazine this month regarding XJ220's....says the major service on these is 30,000 pounds ! Not to mention the fact that parts are really difficult to source and cars get laid up for months...

I'd like one, but not this year....GT3 on the way for now.

If I had the $$ this particular XJ would be in my collection already. At $295,000 it is a steal. It's the first XJ220 that made me wow and I've seen a few.

Hmm something fishy.

Only 1500 miles and the interior is all worn out. Just look at the drivers seat.

In one of the pics it looks like the same car but in silver. Now that one looks awesome. I wish these cars had better interiors in general, I think they suck and take so much away from the car. Headlights are awesome though, would definetly like to have one.

Luis,

Heck yea! I was stunned when I first saw the pics.

Michael Sheehan def. has this car on consignment for a serious collector!

I see a Ruf CTR2, 993TT (an S maybe?), a NA 993, CLK GTR race car (), Lotus Exige, Rothmans liveried 956 (), and a sick silver XJ220.

Correct me if I am wrong guys.

Also can anyone identify the car in between the CLK GTR and the 956?

TTMOTION, Napoleon, and Jas..........thanks guys!
