CarPlay
Hi,
I just bought a 2018 Macan GTS and it has no nav, no voice control and no connect plus. I spoke to my dealer
and they stated I need $2000 in parts plus labor (voice control, GPS antenna and the software upgrade).
Also I found this company that provides a simple software flash and says I don’t need to do all those upgrades to get CarPlay and can just flash the software. The mic is used by my iPhone and voice control through there which makes sense. All for only $299!! Has anyone use them? Here is the link:
https://www.unichip-tec.com/en/porsc...ctivation.html
This seems way more reasonable! Has anyone done this? Happy with it?
Thanks,
Jon

PCM version?
My 2017 Macan has PCM 4.0 and I was able to activate CarPlay by downloading an app to flash MIB and activate the function. It doesn’t work on previous PCM (3.1 or 3.0) and not sure about 4.1 as it should come active by default.
with the MIB tool you could also activate Nav and Android Car, but you still need the GPS antena and maps on the device. You can check if you have those on the tool, too.
There are forum members on the macan forum who charges for their time in doing it remotely for you. I know what I am doing and did it myself. Look for Sima on that forum he could help you. Of you go that route, you will need some very specific tools at hand, as he works with different connection method (ethernet to usb for telnet). I used the SD car method and worked fine, I was lucky I guess.
