should a man be driving a Macan??
Guys,
So my setup is that I am trading in my M6 for the Macan S in black due to kid on the way and needing a bigger AWD more practical car. The goal is to drive it for about 3 months and share with the wife then pick up a 911. I have been in sports cars for the last 4 years (6 different cars to be exact & all M and AMG cars). Am i going to be miserable for 3 months without my sports car or is it doable? Understanding that the macan is probable the sportiest SUV on the market today.
thanks for all input

I gave up my toys, career and fast lifestyle when I was raising my kids.
Misery has an inverse relationship to being a husband and a father. If you are unsure at the moment, wait until your child arrives; then, reanalyze.
Good luck!

I needed a new daily driver as the electrics on my 2012 BMW 650 were awful. Given I have a 991 S Cab and a 996 Turbo Cab for nice days it seemed a natural to get the Macan Turbo given it's handling and overall performance. Now I have the best of both worlds and we know have a 4 door vehicle which every family needs at least one.

It isn't a sports car but if a 4-5 seater is what you need, Macan does the job well. A sedan like amg or m4 or m5 are also good choices. I don't think SUV is comfortable or that practical compared to a sedan.

You are correct that these have been targeted for the female driver and I saw that the target has been working very well. I got my wife a turbo and she likes it very much, I keep a brown paper bag in back to use when I have to drive it..
The macan is fun and most likely is the sportiest SUV out there. You should not have any problems for a few months until you get your 911.

If you're driving an M6 and going to a Macan, I don't think its a big difference in terms of people's perception of the two cars. I see more females driving the 6 series including M6 around the Pacific NW than male drivers.
Additionally, a M6 is not really a true sports car - its heavy, long as a Chevy Tahoe, the steering is numb but fast in a straight line.
The Macan is heavy, not as long as a Tahoe, numb steering and pretty quick in a straight line.
Personally, I'm not a fan of the Macan's shape. Its a bit too round for me and its only slightly smaller than a Cayenne. If you want a real SUV with low range 4x4, get a Cayenne.
