    Hi There

Hope all is well! was just reading your turbo M96 engine build and wondering how the build went? I recently had to replace my motor and am considering future projects to increase power and reliability of this motor.

    Thank you,

yeah your metzger motor is capable of pushing out 750-800whp with bolt on parts like turbos, intercoolers, tune and e-85 setup. Much better platform to start with. I know some guys who have just switched out the rods to a pauter or cp rod and they can run some good powere without fear of bending the stock rods. have fun!!

No problem. I ended up taking my car to S Car Go Racing in San Rafael,CA.
Rob King, the owner, talked me out of investing in a build, he said that the 996 engines have too many other potential issues that could likely eat the investment in repair and upgrade costs. He convinced me to just do a repair/rebuild, sell the car and buy a 996tt. The turbos as well as GT3's have the metzger 3.6 engines and have none of the problems that the 996 engines are infamous for. So that is what I did. Must admit, I was initially a little disappointed in the turbo. Great power, but the C2 handled so much better and the gearing was in my opinion a better design. Now after a year with the turbo and the addition of PSS10 coil overs and upgraded sway bars and drop links, the car rocks! Good luck with the C2, not all of them self-destruct, and those that don't are a blast. Sounds like your build is going to be a (stock) turbo killer!
