VIDEO: MB E63 AMG P30 AMG 0-60 mph in 3.90 secs
Original Post: http://mbworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=221257
Okay, last night the temperature dropped to about 50 degrees, so I decided to take the car for some 0-60 mph runs. I ran 5 times and just couldn't get any faster than 4.08 seconds........ and although those numbers were good, I felt the car could do better. So Amir (M5_Forever) stepped in and said "let me take a shot at it". He ran 5 times: on the first run he lost traction all the way from 0 to 50 mph and ended up with 4.3 seconds. Then he ran 4 more times, and amazingly all 4 runs (in a row) were 3.9x seconds; the fastest run being 3.90 seconds... http://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif http://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/bowdown.gif http://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif I'm surprised how consistent the car is in the cold weather. It's almost like adding NOS to our cars http://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/bowdown.gif This was on 91 octane gas, and I feel that 93 or 94 octane would produce even better results http://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Here is the video, enjoy........ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taCQ0sUef10 |
Two thumbs up for the attempt, it just proves how MB underrates these monsters.

two tons of fun

Nice run, did you have the rollout option enabled?
|
nice runs, i cant believe it barely spins the tires in first gear with traction control off, amazing....not that i track 0-60 times because its traction based but man that pretty quick for a stock car
|
Damn, impressive. Nothing like a big sedan that looks amazing, sounds amazing, and will beat most things on the street.

Thanks for the comments, as far as the rollout option, this is not a Gtech timer because the car is measured by satellites and not by a sensor in the device like the Gtech timers.
As far as I know, this unit only uses global position satellites to measure. Racelogic PerformanceBox claims it uses 10 satellites and measures 100 measurements per second. |
Actually I have a driftbox, which is the same thing, and it does have a 1 foot rollout option. The rollout option has nothing to do with Gtech or accelerometers, it's used to simulate a drag strip start in order to obtain data inline with what somone running their car at a drag would get. You should check your performance machine for that setting and see if it's checked (enabled). Your time of 3.9 seconds was most likely with rollout enabled, and that's ok, most car magazines use it as well.
Here is a link with some good info on rollout: http://forums.triplezoom.com/zeropos...how&id=3072334 |
thumbs up! well done!
