Im having a hard time deciding if its worth the extra 80 grand to get the S65 over the S550. Right now im coming from a CLS 55 and im wondering if i will miss the power and grunt of the 55 if i go to the 550. I know the 65 is more than just engine but is it really worth another 80k?

What are your thoughts?

 

If you have to consider the 80k, then it's not worth it. Don't drive it if you have any questions about it. Just don't.

I'd have to wait and buy it after you got tired of it. Keep me in mind.

get the S63!! you will save 40 thousand and they look identical to each other.

 

63 stil doesnt have the torque of the 55, but its more agile compared to the 55. If you want loads and loads of power, get the 65. Hands down the best fullsize luxury sedan that I have ever driven hard!

 

if you've got the scratch (and it looks like you do, per your sig), I would go with the 65 and mod it with renntech or kleemann. When you've got 685 hp and 870 ft lbs of torque and will smoke your ferrari in a drag race, you'll know where the money was spent.

 

Three variants to think about the 600 becasue its a twin turbo V12, the S63 for the breaks and the whole AMG specs or the S65 for the torque.

Its not really about the money just dont want to feel like im just throwing away money to get the best thing possible

 

Well you know how those babies depreciate... wait another 3 months and pick up a 5k mile car for the same price as a used S550.

 

I would go with the 63. Not shy in terms of power and not beasy either.

 

On a car that size I personally would not consider the 63 because of its anemic torque in comparison to the bi-turbo platforms. FYI the 600 and 65 make the same torque when modified.

 

Deffintley true...those 65's drop like a rock!....Anyone know of any good dealers that have 63's in stock?

if u chip it, you are well over 600 hp

i think a nice black flying spur w/ mulliner package might change ur mind

also, keep in mind bentleys depreciate MUCH less, and are faster than the benz's and much easier to control because of the awd
