I would go for a 63 AMG, I love torque crazy Naturally Aspirated Engines and with Headers,Ecu, Charcol filters removed, Drop in filters, X pipe and a 2ndary cats deleted they become very very fast.

What are 06 CLS55's going for?

I was just at the local dealer looking at the CLS63. I am looking to lease the car, and it is a bit more than I want to spend for a daily driver at this time. However, he was able to locate several new 06 CLS55's around the country.

What is the going price for a new 06 CLS55? What are the differences between that and the CLS63?

Any reason I would choose the 63 over the 55?

THANKS!

Best,
Kyle

If I were you I wanted a 55. A better sound in my eyes. You safe a lot money. I think here is Kevin M the expert. Here is a theard about the sound. And the 63 looks like the 55!

55 makes 493 HP
63 makes 507 HP

55 has the 5 speed transmission
63 has the 7 speed transmission

I've heard good things about both. The 55, with only 5 gears, has more torque in each gear (from what I hear). The 63 has 7 gears, so it's...yeah.

Drive both?

Kyle: It depends what is more important to you - payment or the car.

In terms of finance: CLS63 will lease cheaper, due to it's being a new car and higher residual. You might find a high mileage CLS55 that would be close in payment, but expect over 20K miles.

In terms of power: 55 has a lot more TQ down low and can be easily modded to 600HP plus. 63 has a more refined and better sounding engine, and with most bolt-ons will stop at around 550-560HP. I am working on several power parts right now to get to that number.

In terms of handling: 63 over 55, on any track. Especially if you are lucky to find one with 030 Performance Package.

In terms of braking: 63 over 55, new lighter calipers and rotors will work better on the street and track.

Good Luck!

I absolutely love the torque of my 55. The torque is on of the main reasons why i bought the car.
