I'm interested in hearing about DSLR's with good glass (used outfits) under $800 - Nikon D70, Canon 20D, etc. PM with details.

I'm currently selling my 1 year old Canon 20D kit with original 18-55mm lens for $450 + shipping. I've got everything it came with plus the original box, cables, manuals, etc.

hmm, that's a good question. How do I find out? If you tell me how, I'll check as soon as I get home from work.

I am sure exactly how too. I know on my 40D it marks my files img### so thats how I tell. Or even easier, can you venture a guess? Do you use it often? What do you shoot? Sports or landscape? I have a coworker very interested.

Well I think the last time I used it, which was Christmas, the last photo was numbered 1000-something I think but honestly, I'll have to double check tonight. I don't know if I had it set up to do "continuous" numbering or not....I know it has a setting for that. I used it mainly to take pics at car shows, pics for the website, and family functions. If I had to venture a guess, I'd say maybe 2000 at the most. Sometime last year I got a really good Canon point and shoot, so I didn't use the 20D as much since it was easier to carry around the little one. Eventually I want to get a 40D but for right now I don't really need it.

I think there's a way to get a definite number of shutter clicks...I'll do some research today and see if I can find out how, but if all else fails, I'll go by the file numbers and let you know tonight.

Box- that's a good price for the 20D and lense, you can't go too wrong.
Use the remaining money for a good lense. Unless you're a pro photographer it should do all you need and then some, with fantastic results once you learn how to use it.

.....JMHO.....

To give you an example, here's a couple of quick snaps I took the other day with a measly Canon Rebel XT and good glass:

lol- yeah, there's actually a thread on this in the 996 forum. I could not move it any lower due to the trunk curve. In hindsight I could have heated it up in an oven first to give it a conforming bend.
